On Fofana saying on social media he can be back in a few weeks: "We speak the same language in terms of way we communicate between each other in English and French. It has been quite clear.

"I speak with Wes about the 12-16 weeks the club mention to me, it is the situation. Wes is thinking he can recover sooner than that. We would all be happy if we could receive him for tomorrow, but we will see.

"There is no problem. I just say what the medical staff tell me. Wes is thinking he can recover quicker than that. We are all happy if Wes is back as soon as possible."

  6. Ruben Amorim looks ahead to Arsenalpublished at 13:20 Greenwich Mean Time

Arsenal v Man Utd (Sun, 15:00 GMT)

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport's chief football news reporter

After four successive defeats, Manchester United's draw at Liverpool on Sunday finally afforded a bit of positivity for head coach Ruben Amorim.

Yet that has given way to more talk about Marcus Rashford's future, given his brother has spent this week talking to European clubs, and also Kobbie Mainoo, who still has two-and-a-half years left on his contract but is one of United's most saleable assets.

An FA Cup trip to Arsenal is made slightly harder by the fact there has to be a winner at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday but following the EFL Cup defeat at Tottenham, it is one of two remaining chances of winning a trophy this season - the Europa League being the other.

Amorim will be here to speak to the media shortly.

  9. Is Warnock the king of comebacks?published at 12:59 Greenwich Mean Time

So our previous caller flagged John Still's impressive career in the lower leagues.

For the record, he was at Barnet three times, Dagenham & Redbridge three times, Maidstone United twice and Leytonstone & Ilford twice [as well as a spell at Leytonstone before the club joined forces with Ilford].

Further up the pyramid and it looks like Neil Warnock was the king of comebacks. As mentioned, he has had multiple spells at Huddersfield, Crystal Palace and QPR! Incredible.

There are more answers coming through via text messages because you guys clearly know more than we do!!

On recurring managers. John Still managed four teams twice, and two of them three times. What a ledge!

Norwich City's Borja Sainz has been suspended for six matches and fined £12,000 for a spitting incident during their Championship defeat at Sunderland.

Championship top scorer Sainz was alleged to have spat at defender Chris Mepham in the second half of their 2-1 loss on 21 December.

"Sainz admitted the charge and his sanctions were subsequently imposed by an independent regulatory commission," an FA statement said.

The ban means that the 23-year-old Spaniard will also miss Saturday's FA Cup third-round tie against Brighton.

"Spitting at an opponent is completely out of character for me, and my reaction in that moment was unacceptable. I deeply regret my actions and take full responsibility," said Sainz, who has scored 15 goals this season.

Warnock's done it three times if you count caretakers - Huddersfield, Palace, QPR (definitely no Wikipedia used!)

Moyes is probably the right choice to keep us up, but we need a complete change of philosophy. We will have to offer him at least 18 months as he won't come, reminds me of when we appointed Allardyce on an 18-month contract only to sack him eight months later.

David Moyes has had a rather eventful time since leaving Everton. Is he about to come full circle and make his return to Goodison Park?

    • Signed a six-year contract with Manchester United in July 2013 but only lasted until the following April
    • Moyes wasn't out of work for long though as he made the switch to Real Sociedad in Spain. He last one day shy of a year
    • The Scot took over at Sunderland in July 2016 for his first Premier League job since Man Utd. He resigned one day before the end of the season
    • Moyes was appointed West Ham boss in November 2017. His sixth-month deal expired in May 2018 and he left the club
    • He was reappointed as Hammers boss in December 2019 and enjoyed five years in charge. In 2023, West Ham won the Uefa Conference League but left the club at the end of the following season

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that Rodrigo Bentancur is back home after he was taken off on a stretcher during their Carabao Cup win against Liverpool.

"Good news. He was in hospital and did all the tests to make sure everything is okay. All good. He's back home and he's fine. He is feeling good," Postecoglou said.

"Thankfully, it looks like a concussion and nothing more than it."

Bentancur had fallen unchallenged during the early stages of the semi-final first leg.

The 27-year-old Uruguay international was treated on the pitch for around nine minutes before being taken to hospital for further checks.

"Obviously, you follow the protocols now and it's a couple of weeks where you have to make sure everything is okay," Postecoglou said.

  18. 'Everton are still struggling near the foot of the table'published at 12:15 Greenwich Mean Time

    Phil McNulty
    BBC Sport chief football writer

Since Moyes left for Old Trafford, Everton have had eight permanent managers with seven sackings. The stability and continuity he knew is a thing of the past, football's managerial landscape changing in that period.

Everton are still struggling near the foot of the table, as they were when he took over from Walter Smith in 2002, but he will be working with new American owners in The Friedkin Group who have already shown themselves to be ruthless by dismissing Dyche after only three weeks in control.

There is unlikely to be any of the patience shown by Kenwright during the occasional tough times in Moyes' first spell, while he will be working under a director of football in Kevin Thelwell, not a situation he encountered when he ruled Everton before, taking decisions on buying and selling himself, the decision maker on all football strategy.

Everton's league position may not have changed, but the Everton Moyes knew before has. How he adapts to those changing circumstances will shape his and the club's immediate future.

David Moyes did great for Everton with no money so maybe with a few quid he could do better. However his best finds were people like Cahill and Jagileka for nothing so he could work around the FFP if he needed to. My only issue is that maybe he’s past his best who knows? Worrying times! For those saying without Dyche we will go down we were going down with him he had nothing left to give nice guy and thanks for keeping us going but it’s not the job for you

  20. What squad issues would the new Everton manager have?published at 12:07 Greenwich Mean Time

    Everton

What has been glaringly obvious when watching Everton under Sean Dyche is that they do not score enough goals. This season, the Toffees have scored 15 times - just Southampton have scored less with 12.

Since the start of last season, Everton have only managed to net 26 goals from open play. To put that into perspective, Liverpool are at the top of that chart with 103.
