Hearts head coach Steven Naismith tells Premier Sports: "Disappointed, it's deja vu from the game here last season. You've got to win the battle and have intensity.

"We took a lot of plaudits for last season but if you want to be a team that's successful... you can't just decide when you want to turn up.

Dundee manager Tony Docherty tells Premier Sports: "Hearts are very a good side. We had the balance right and there were a lot of top performances in my team.

"The energy and dynamism from Lyall Cameron and Luke McCowan added to it. We got the attacking intent really well. That's set a benchmark now.

"[Scott Tiffoney's] looked brilliant all pre-season. There's not a more hard-working boy, he gets his rewards. Today he was a thorn in their side. He was top drawer and quite rightly got man of the match."

Dundee have their first Scottish Premiership win of the season while Hearts sustain their maiden league defeat.

Scott Tiffoney's opener, Gerald Taylor's own goal and a Luke McCowan put Dundee well on their way to the three points before Frankie Kent's second-half consolation.

Opening goal scorer Scott Tiffoney makes way and Finlay Robertson is on for Dundee.

Hearts duo James Penrice and Lawrence Shankland are both booked for fouling Luke McCowan and Lyall Cameron, respectively, as Dundee tried to mount a counter attack. Referee Don Robertson had played advantage following the Penrice foul.

Seven minutes of added time are under way.

Simon Murray's race is run for Dundee and he's replaced by Curtis Main.

Lawrence Shankland chases a hopeful long ball that bounces harmlessly out. It's not been the Hearts captain's day and time is running out with the clock ticking on to 84 minutes.

It's a long throw-in into the Dundee box, headed on by a defender and the Hearts forward has the goal at his mercy but contrives to head straight at Jon McCracken.

Nervous moment for Dundee there as Yutaro Oda chases a long ball. Goalkeeper Jon McCracken comes off his line to head it and needs team-mate Ethan Ingram to complete the clearance.

Yan Dhanda swings over a Hearts corner and Frankie Kent heads off target. Decent chance that.

The clock says 15 minutes to go but there will be some added time following that Ziyad Larkeche injury for Dundee.

Big chance for Dundee as Seb Palmer-Houlden holds off his marker before teeing up Scott Tiffoney but the opening goal scorer cannot hit the target on this occasion.

Ziyad Larkeche is down injured for Dundee and on comes the stretcher to take him off.

Billy Koumetio is taking the place of the left-back.

Frankie Kent has scored Hearts' first Scottish Premiership goal of the season.
