Now it's the visitors' turn to threaten.

Omar Bugiel gets a good cross in but Matty Stevens is stretching and can only head it wide of the left-hand post.

Not the greatest contest it has to be said, but early days.

    Sutton 0-0 Birmingham

Blues goalkeeper Ryan Allsop is booked for dissent after rushing out of his box to let referee Ben Atkinson know what he thought about the non-award of that penalty shout.

Will he come to regret that later in the game?

  3. Postpublished at 12:47 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November

    The hosts continue to threaten.

Kane Lemonheigh-Evans spins his marker and plays a neat flick around the corner but the intended pass to Scott Hogan, lurking in the penalty area, is cut out.

  4. 'Sutton playing deep'published at 12:47 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November

    Sutton 0-0 Birmingham

    Darren Carter
Ex-Birmingham midfielder on BBC Radio WM

Sutton are really deep at the moment.

  5. Postpublished at 12:47 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November

    Sutton 0-0 Birmingham

Birmingham are content to work the ball around across the backline and through midfield.

Sutton are content to let them have it there and close the spaces.

It is adding up to a bit of a stalemate in these early minutes.

  6. YELLOW CARDpublished at 12:44 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November

    MK Dons 0-0 AFC Wimbledon

First card of the day as Wimbledon's Josh Neufville scythes down Joe Tomlinson and goes into the book.

MK Dons' Tomlinson made sure the referee knew he'd been caught but that's a clear booking.

A quietish start on the pitch as both sides look to get the measure of their opponents.

    And a chance!

Kane Lemonheigh-Evans is caught in possession asMK Dons play out from the back and suddenly there's a three-on-two for Wimbledon.

But the pass from Miles Hippolyte is a poor one, leaving Alistair Smith none too pleased.

  8. Postpublished at 12:41 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November

    Sutton 0-0 Birmingham

Birmingham full-back Ethan Laird is tripped by Charlie Waller and referee Ben Atkinson is very quick to blow for a free-kick on the edge of the box.

But the TV replays show it was at least a yard inside the area!

No VAR here, so no pen! Although Jeremy Sivi is booked for tugging Laird before he got into the box, so the referee may have decided that was the original offence for which he blew the whistle.

  9. Postpublished at 12:39 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November

    Sutton 0-0 Birmingham

Sutton goalkeeper Jack Sims is forced to dash out of his area and put the ball in the stands.

A slight heart in the moment mouth for Sims, but he dealt with it well in the end.

  10. 'Scrappy start'published at 12:39 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November

    MK Dons 0-0 AFC Wimbledon

    Toby Lock
MK Citizen's sports editor on BBC Three Counties Radio

It's been a bit of a scrappy start.

MK Dons have probably seen more of the ball but nothing to write home about for either side.

  11. Postpublished at 12:38 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November

    MK Dons 0-0 AFC Wimbledon

Scott Hogan dances into the Wimbledon box and Alex Gilbey is free and screaming for a pass.

But when it arrives its loo late and the visitors eventually clear.

  12. Postpublished at 12:36 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November

    Sutton 0-0 Birmingham

Birmingham boss Chris Davies has got plenty of cup pedigree in his coaching career as he was assistant to Brendan Rodgers to win the FA Cup with Leicester and the Scottish Cup with Celtic north of the border.

But this is the first time the result of an FA Cup tie rests entirely on his shoulders as head coach.

  13. Postpublished at 12:34 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November

    MK Dons 0-0 AFC Wimbledon

There's a good atmosphere at Stadium MK - particularly for a lunchtime KO.

Both sets of fans are bringing the noise.

MK keeper Craig MacGillivray gets an early touch of the ball to cut out a teasing cross.

  14. Postpublished at 12:33 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November

    Sutton 0-0 Birmingham

Good work from Jayden Harris wins Sutton a very early corner, but it comes to nothing and it gets cleared away by Blues.

Nice show of intent though from the non-leaguers, though.

It's funny how the draw works sometimes but this is probably the pick of the draw of the first-round ties for anybody who knows their history of this fixture.
