  1. 'Credit to Rothwell'published at 19:54 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March

    Leeds 1-0 Millwall

    Adam Pope
    BBC Radio Leeds commentator

You have to credit the effort to get up the pitch from Leeds' Joe Rothwell.

Manor Solomon did the rest. In it goes.

Leeds are in the lead. It means they are two points clear of Sheffield United in the table.

  2. Stoke change four; Rovers make three alterationspublished at 19:53 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March

    Stoke v Blackburn (20:00 GMT)

    Stoke XI

Stoke City boss Mark Robins saw his side fall to a heartbreaking injury-time loss at former side Coventry on Saturday and responds by making four changes. Million Manhoef and former Blackburn loanee Lewis Baker are among those back in. Ex-Blackburn striker Sam Gallagher got two goals from the bench in that game and will look to have an impact from the bench again.

    Blackburn XI

Blackburn make three changes of their own after Saturday's disappointing 2-1 loss at lowly Derby. Dion Sanderson, Adam Forshaw and Todd Cantwell are all in.

  3. Hull in search of 'magical' 40-point markpublished at 19:51 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March

    Hull 0-0 Oxford

    James Fletcher
    BBC Radio Humberside commentator

There is nothing really to separate these two.

But, after last night's victories for Derby County and a positive result for Luton Town as well, everything seems to have tightened up again at the bottom end of the Championship table.

The Tigers can leapfrog Oxford United tonight and reach that magical 40.

    Portsmouth 0-0 Plymouth

Pompey are the side with the early endeavour at the moment which, given their form at Fratton Park, may not be all too surprising.

Portsmouth have lost just one of their past 12 (W9 D2 L1) on home soil.

As for Plymouth, the only goal in their past three games in all competitions came at Manchester City...

    PERFECT start for Leeds!

The away side had actually made a bright start but they've been caught out by a rapid counter.

Joe Rothwell is key to it as he drives forward and exchanges a one-two before playing Manor Solomon in wide left.

His low cross hits the knee of the unfortunate Jake Cooper and gives Lukas Jensen in the Lions net no chance.

The Whites back on top of the Championship!

  6. Postpublished at 19:47 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March

    Portsmouth 0-0 Plymouth

Fratton Park is its ever-loud usual self as Portsmouth win an early corner on the left. It's flicked on at the near post and Colby Bishop tries to meet it at the far stick but it's out of his reach.

  7. 'No nerves' around defeat - Farkepublished at 19:47 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March

    Leeds 0-0 Millwall

    Adam Pope
    BBC Radio Leeds commentator

Leeds United boss Daniel Farke is very good at getting the messages out there.

The biggest one is that there were no nerves going into the game against Portsmouth last Sunday.

Yes, they were not happy with the losing performance.

But look how he behaved. He sounded calm. That's the biggest message coming into this game: "Hey guys, we've got this".

Leeds United can go some way to alleviating the pain of letting a five-point lead at the top slip if they win this evening.

With Sheffield United and Burnley both drawing last night, victory would see the Whites return to the summit and open up a two-point gap to the Blades and, perhaps more importantly, a four-point cushion to the Clarets.

At the other end, Hull City and Oxford United will be looking to pull away from the bottom three, as will Stoke City against Blackburn, who are aiming to stay in touch with the top six.

Plymouth's current plight is clear for all to see and they need a positive result to avoid getting cut adrift.

  10. Rothwell returns for Leeds; Millwall change fourpublished at 19:39 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March

    Leeds XI

Leeds boss Daniel Farke makes just one change from the side that started Sunday's 1-0 reverse at Portsmouth. Joe Rothwell is in midfield for Ilia Gruev.

    Millwall XI

Millwall boss Alex Neil has shaken things up with four changes despite coming away with the points from Watford on Saturday. Young Serbian striker Mihailo Ivanovic will lead the line and Femi Azeez, who got both the Lions' goals in last month's FA Cup win here also comes into the XI.

  11. Can Lions stop Whites getting back on horse?published at 19:37 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March

    Leeds v Millwall (19:45 GMT)

    Millwall fanImage source, PA Media

Up until Sunday, Millwall were the only side to beat Leeds in 2025.

The Lions claimed a 2-0 win at Elland Road in the fourth round of the FA Cup against an admittedly much-changed Whites 11.

Can they repeat the trick tonight to see Daniel Farke's men slip to three games without a win?

The omens are basically stacked in the home side's favour it has to be said.

Prior to Sunday's reverse at Portsmouth they hadn't lost since November and they haven't been beaten at home in the league since September.

Alex Neil's men have very distant play-off aspirations though and a win tonight could lift them up to 10th.

  12. One change for Tigers as Brannagan misses out for Yellowspublished at 19:35 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March

Hull City v Oxford (19:45 GMT)

    Hull City XI

Hull City have made just one change from the 1-1 draw at Bristol City. Striker Joao Pedro was sent off after giving the Tigers an early lead and he starts a three-match ban, Matt Crooks is in for him.

    Oxford XI

Key Oxford United midfielder Cameron Brannagan is ruled out with a minor knee injury and wideman Tyler Goodrham is ill. The experienced Matt Phillips and Ruben Rodrigues are in.

How defining could tonight's match at the MKM Stadium prove to be for Hull City and Oxford?

The home side are two points above the dotted line but are looking for successive home wins for the first time since November 2023.

The visitors are one place and two points above the Tigers in 18th but are winless in eight league games.

After two of the bottom three won last night a slip up for either of these pair this evening could be very damaging.

  14. Pompey unchanged, Hardie starts for Argylepublished at 19:31 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March

    Portsmouth v Plymouth (19:45 GMT)

Perhaps unsurprisingly, John Mousinho sticks with the same Portsmouth starting XI from Sunday's excellent 1-0 win at home to Leeds United.

Meanwhile, Plymouth Argyle boss Miron Muslic has made four changes from the 3-0 home defeat to Sheffield Wednesday.

The Pligrims' top goalscorer Ryan Hardie only came off the bench at half-time on Saturday but starts for the first time since his return from injury.

Tymoteusz Puchacz. Jordan Houghton and Michael Obafemi also come in, while Malachi Boateng, Nathanael Ogbeta, Callum Wright and Bali Mumba all drop to the bench.

Portsmouth pulled off an excellent 1-0 victory over title-chasing Leeds United on Sunday to make it four wins from their past five games.

Another victory tonight would surely put them on the brink of staying safe in their first season back in the Championship for 12 years.

Indeed, such is the seesaw nature of this division, a win over bottom-side Plymouth would see John Mousinho’s men almost closer to the play-off spots (11 points) than the relegation zone (10 points).

As for Plymouth, a winless five-game run has seen them slip to the foot of the table, six points adrift of the cut-off, though Luton’s victory at Cardiff last night may have done them a favour to keep both the Bluebirds and Stoke City within reach.

The Pilgrims have not won away from home all season in the league (D5 L13) and a trip to Fratton Park - where Portsmouth have lost once in their past 12 (W9 D2 L1) - might not look the most inviting.

It’s fast approaching do-or-die territory for Miron Muslic’s side and if ever there was a first time to pick up three points on the road, it is now.

  16. Two changes for Watford, one for Swanseapublished at 19:27 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March

    Watford v Swansea (19:45 GMT)

Watford boss Tom Cleverley makes two changes to his side from the 2-1 defeat at home to Millwall on Saturday, one of which is enforced.

Tom Ince returns to the starting XI in place of Mamadou Doumbia who isn't in the squad after being ruled out for a "few weeks" with a hamstring injury he suffered at the weekend.

Ryan Andrews also comes in at right-back for Jeremy Ngakia, who drops to the bench.

Interim Swansea City manager Alan Sheehan is forced into one change from the 1-0 win against Middlesbrough last time out.

Hannes Delcroix replaces centre-back Harry Darling who injured his hip in Saturday's victory.

  17. Are Hornets running out of venom in play-off hunt?published at 19:25 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March

    Watford v Swansea (19:45 GMT)

If Watford are to wrestle their way back into play-off contention, they need to find more consistency along the final stretch.

Since winning their first three games of the season, the Hornets haven’t been able to string together more than two victories - an issue that has summed up their season.

In-fact, Tom Cleverley’s side have won just three of their past 14 (D3 L8) and are seven points off the top six, but have this game in hand and the opportunity to reduce the deficit to four points with victory.

Swansea have steadied the ship under caretaker boss Alan Sheehan following the exit of Luke Williams and are unbeaten in three games he's taken charge of (W2 D1).

A play-off berth seems one heck of a longshot at this stage for the 16th-placed Swans and their priority will be ensuring they don't get dragged into the relegation mix.

  18. Potters in make or break territorypublished at 19:23 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March

    Stoke v Blackburn (20:00 GMT)

Stoke looked to be easing towards the safety of midtable with a 3-1 win at home to Swansea on 15 February.

However, four games without a win have seen their buffer to the relegation zone cut from six points down to one.

The Potters have won four of their past six games against Rovers and boss Mark Robins is unbeaten in his past eight Championship games against the side from Lancashire.

New Blackburn boss Valerien Ismael is looking for his first win since replacing John Eustace last month.

Their play-off push is faltering but a win tonight will move them back to within one point of the top six.

  19. Where there's life there's hope for Rams and Hatters...published at 19:21 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March

    Thelo AasgaardImage source, Getty Images

The teams at the top might have fluffed their lines yesterday but two of the sides fighting relegation took their chances.

Derby made it back-to-back wins with a 2-0 success over Coventry to dent the Sky Blues' top-six push and move themselves to within a point of safety.

Luton also made it two wins in three after coming back from 1-0 down at fellow strugglers Cardiff to claim a 2-1 victory.

Those results mean Plymouth, winless in five, start tonight four points adrift at the foot of the table.

  20. Missed opportunities at the toppublished at 19:19 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March

Sheffield United striker Tyrese CampbellImage source, Getty Images

Yesterday's results might have seen Leeds drop back down to second but they'll be pleased with how things played out all the same.

Sheffield United moved above them but Mark Sykes' last-minute equaliser for Bristol City ensured it was by just one point and not three.

Second-placed Burnley had to settle for a point from a 1-1 draw with play-off chasing West Brom and fourth-placed Sunderland completed a hat-trick of 1-1 scorelines after being held at home by Preston.

All that means that a victory for Leeds tonight will send them back to the top and four points clear of the Clarets.
