With Cardiff City relegated from the Championship this afternoon, another Welsh team could replace them as Wrexham look to confirm the runners-up spot in League One.

Phil Parkinson's side kick off at home to Charlton at 17:30, needing a win to seal promotion - although the Addicks will stay in the running themselves if they can take all three points.

However, Wycombe dropped to third place behind Stockport after their 1-0 defeat at Leyton Orient, who occupy the final play-off place.

  2. 'It's simple, it's in Preston's own hands'published at 17:12 British Summer Time 26 April

    FT: Preston 1-2 Plymouth

    Paul Gallagher
Former Preston midfielder on BBC Radio Lancashire

I think Preston left everything on the pitch, the energy and desire but it was just that final bit of quality.

Going to Bristol City is going to be tough but it's simple, it's in their own hands.

The second half was all Preston and then Plymouth get the goal and you could just see the body language of the Preston players.

It's hard to take because Preston have played some good stuff this season.

You get what you deserve and now can we get the result at Portsmouth? If you look at the facts and stats then no chance.

We're in a bad position and we're all down to hope next week. When your relying on other results...

    It's a sad day.

An incredible end to the game that had a few chances.

The Derby supporters can't believe what they've seen in the last 10 minutes of this game.

They got the lead and just saw the game out.

    Blackburn 2-1 Watford

Blackburn take their play-off challenge to the final day.

Mattie Pollock gave Watford the lead but Rovers have found something in these final weeks and goals from Todd Cantwell and Tyrhys Dolan mean a win at Sheffield United next Saturday could see them sneak into the top six.

Four wins in a row for Valerien Ismael's side.

  8. FULL-TIMEpublished at 16:58 British Summer Time 26 April

    Preston 1-2 Plymouth

Plymouth hold on to win on the day, but it's likely a case of too little, too late with their goal difference 14 goals worse-off than Luton.

Argyle will be relegated to League One barring an absolute footballing miracle next week.

Preston are just one point above the drop zone and will have to fight for their Championship survival on the final day.

  11. 'Preston have lacked quality to get on the end of things'published at 16:55 British Summer Time 26 April

    Preston 1-2 Plymouth

    Paul Gallagher
Former Preston midfielder on BBC Radio Lancashire

Preston have just played simple football, got it forward and put in some great balls but it's just been the lack of quality to get on the end of things.

I think they'll be one more chance, it just depends how the long the ref wants to add on.

Not enough from Cardiff who couldn't find the goal they needed.

Calum Chambers had an effort cleared off the line and Youself Salech hit a post but they could easily have lost with Isaac Price hitting the woodwork for West Brom and Ethan Horvath superbly denying Adam Armstrong.
