Southend picked up their first National League win in five games after beating Aldershot at Roots Hall.

The Shrimpers took the lead in the 16th minute after Keenan Appiah-Forson's header was spilled by Marcus Dewhurst and Andrew Dallas bundled the ball over the line.

The hosts got their second with 16 minutes remaining when Harry Boyes crossed to the back post and Slavi Spasov was waiting to head in.

Nathan Ralph sealed all three points for Southend with a header from Oli Coker's corner in the 88th minute.
