Both clubs have won the competition three times - Tottenham in 1972, 1984 and 2025, and Liverpool in 1973, 1976 and 2001.
Inter Milan, Juventus and Atletico Madrid have also won the Uefa Cup/Europa League three times.
Only Sevilla have won it more, standing alone with seven titles - between 2006 and 2023.

Image source, PA MediaSpeaking to TNT Sports after last night's game, Tottenham's match-winner Brennan Johnson accepted that Spurs being 17th in the Premier League "is not good enough" but was delighted after completing "an unbelievable Europa run".
"I'm so happy right now," he said. "This season has not been good at all, not one of us players care about that now.
"This club has not won a trophy for 17 years, it means so much. All the fans get battered, we get battered for not winning a trophy - we had to get the first one, I'm so happy. Ever since I came here it has been 'Tottenham, good team but can't get it done'. But we got it done."

He said: "I made a big thing for us as a group about family this year and how important family is. These boys, I'm so proud of them, and the staff. They have been the best family that I could ever be associated with.
"More importantly, it's everyone in this room - how you have helped these boys become champions. They truly deserve it. They are outstanding people, not just outstanding players. I could not be more proud to be their manager.
"I want everyone to enjoy tonight and what it means because you are all, every single one of you, deserve it from the bottom of my heart. I have never been more proud to be the manager of a football club than the manager of these players and the people with me.
"You, the families - I played a video before the game and it inspired them to win this game today. Every single one of them is a champion. Well done and enjoy the night."
