Watford boss Tom Cleverley claps the fans after the 0-0 draw with PlymouthImage source, PA Media

Watford boss Tom Cleverley told BBC Three Counties Radio: "We wasted 45 minutes against a team that we're good enough to beat. That's the main regret.

"We didn't play with enough tempo, enough desperation to score, enough penetration and there were too many unforced errors.

"There has to be a determination to break down that back line and I didn't see that. It's not just going to happen, you have to make it happen.

"The second half was how we should play. It was a more entertaining style, more direct, no mistakes. It's a bit of a head scratch how the ball's not found its way into the net, but that's the way it's been going for us.

"I've a lot of admiration for our second-half performance, how the players reacted to a bit of a rocket at half-time. There have only been two or three rockets this season. I feel the players are mentally strong enough to take them, otherwise I wouldn't do it."

  2. 'We need to show more efficiency' - Muslicpublished at 17:29 Greenwich Mean Time 29 March

Plymouth boss Miron Muslic told BBC Radio Devon: "We were almost perfect in the first half in not allowing Watford a shot on target. And they are a very good team with a fantastic home record so it's not easy to keep them out.

"The next step is to reward ourselves with goals. We created so many good things due to good structure.

"We had a lot of opportunities but we needed to be a bit calmer and show more efficiency.

"If we had given Watford the same chances that we had, I think they would have taken them."

While we wait for reaction to the 3pm kick-offs, let's take a look back at what the managers had to say after the two lunchtime games, which featured three sides in the thick of the relegation battle.

  4. Relieved Rams and hope for Hatterspublished at 17:24 Greenwich Mean Time 29 March

    Bottom of the Championship

At half-time it looked like being a terrible afternoon for Derby, who don't play this weekend because Preston are in FA Cup quarter-final action tomorrow.

However, Sheffield Wednesday's equaliser at Cardiff and Middlesbrough going from 1-0 down at home to Oxford to winning 2-1 means the Rams can now climb up to 20th with a win over the Lilywhites on Wednesday.

Luton claimed a vital 1-0 win at Hull in one of the early kick-offs, while Plymouth's slim survival hopes weren't aided by a 0-0 draw at Watford.

Stoke beat QPR 3-1 to give themselves a bit of breathing room.

  5. Blades hold on to pole positionpublished at 17:21 Greenwich Mean Time 29 March

    Top of the Championship

Sheffield United fans will like the look of this.

The Blades got their work done for the weekend on Friday night with a convincing 3-1 win over Coventry to go back to the top of the table.

Leeds looked like they would go back to the summit but conceded an injury time equaliser to Swansea and are now only above third-placed Burnley on goal difference.

Middlesbrough are now only outside the top six on goal difference after battling back from a goal down to beat Oxford.

When Leeds are promoted the first action is a world class goalkeeper as 8-10 points dropped via goalie mistakes could be the difference between staying up or going straight back down.

    Darren, Nottingham

Meslier is hell bent on keeping Leeds in the Championship it seems.

    David

Meslier, too inconsistent compared to other Championship keepers. Has cost us multiple points with poor performances.

    Anon

Meslier what can I say that's at least five points you have cost us.

    Anon

Too many poor performances today. Poor choices, poor passing. Meslier top class for part of the game but cost us second half. Subs should have been on sooner. So disappointing.

    Jon, York

Leeds goalkeeper Illan Meslier made a fine penalty save in the first half against Swansea but was then culpable for their first goal and maybe could have done better for their stoppage time equaliser.

    • Norwich City's Josh Sargent scores a stoppage time winner to boost their faint play-off hopes and dent West Bromwich Albion's.
    • Middlesbrough come from behind to beat Oxford 2-1 to move level on points with Albion in sixth as the U's remain four points above the drop zone.

    FT: Burnley 1-0 Bristol City

    David Unsworth
Former Burnley and Everton defender on BBC Radio Lancashire

Well done James Trafford at the end. Incredible concentration there.

It could and should have been more but it does not matter.

This was dominance from Burnley, they look comfortable and are carving teams open. That is what you want at this stage of the season.

I think this is going to go all the way to the last game. I can't call it. I just want Burnley to go up automatically.

Meslier has cost Leeds big time this season, Farke going to need to address this as the goals in the last 10 mins to win games is an unsustainable model for success going forward.

    Josh, Leamington Spa

What a dramatic afternoon at Elland Road...

Zan Vipotnik celebrates scoring Swansea's equaliser at LeedsImage source, Rex Features

Leeds scored in the first minute and conceded in the last one as they miss out on the chance to go back to the top of the table.

Whites fans probably feel like they've heard this one before...

In truth it wasn't a good performance from the title chasers at all.

They scored inside 40 seconds through Brenden Aaronson but were then indebted to goalkeeper Illan Meslier saving a Josh Tymon penalty.

Meslier then dropped a corner on to the foot of Harry Darling to level for the away side but sub Willy Gnonto looked to have won it for Leeds.

However, in the sixth minute of seven added on Zan Vipotnik hit a low shot into the bottom corner to give the Swans a point.

    Sheffield United stay top.

Norwich hold on to win it thanks to Josh Sargent's injury time strike.

  14. GREAT SAVE!published at 16:58 Greenwich Mean Time 29 March

    Norwich 1-0 West Brom

Wow! Angus Gunn has just made an incredible save to deny West Brom an equaliser from Kyle Bartley's header from point-blank range.

Grady Diangana then nods the rebound on target but it's cleared off the line!

What drama at the end here!

    Middlesbrough 2-1 Oxford

Middlesbrough come from behind to take all three points and boost their play-off hopes. A big blow for Oxford in the battle to avoid the drop.

Michal Helik put the visitors ahead with a low drive in the first half but an inspired second-half performance from Boro's Samuel Iling-Junior turned the game on its head.

The 21-year-old Aston Villa loanee laid on both goals, first for Kelechi Iheanacho for the equaliser and then Neto Borges' winner.

    Sunderland 1-0 Millwall

Three more points for fourth-placed Sunderland.

Trai Hume's first half strike proves to be enough.

They could and should have added to it but Luke O'Nien's late penalty was saved by Lions goalkeeper Lukas Jensen.
