Thankfully, on this occasion, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp could see the funny side.

Aston Villa

Aston VIlla boss Unai Emery on his team's approach at Bramall Lane: "When teams are playing at home they try to show their supporters their qualities and wishes to play, trying to win. I will face a team being more aggressive than when they played against us at home. Sometimes they will play defensively lower, but they were successful against us like that.

“They could feel comfortable playing like that at home, but at home it’s completely sure for me they are going to try to play being more offensive than they were here.

"Sheffield United is a very important match for us after the defeat we had at home to Newcastle. We are really excited and motivated to play tomorrow. The most important thing is how we can face the match and our preparation for the match. We worked this morning and we’re going to travel after lunch. We are going to try to focus 100% on the match and it’s very important. It’s difficult as well because playing away is always difficult.”

Bournemouth

Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola on Kieffer Moore's loan move to Ipswich Town: "I think it’s a situation that could have happened last summer, but we decided it was better for him to stay. This time everyone wanted to try and find another number nine, so if he could go somewhere and play more minutes that helped."

He said his squad "have very little time to prepare" for the game against Forest on Sunday: "We know what we are going to face. They have had good success against strong opposition."

Luton Town

Luton Town boss Rob Edwards on Elijah Adebayo: "I think Eli is recognising what gets him success is hard work. He has been brilliant for us. He is a huge part in us achieving promotion. He's steadily improving like we all have. It's the hard work. it's staying consistent, keeping our feet on the floor and doing the right thing. None of us have made it yet. It's a progress and we’ll keep working hard."

We've reached the quarter-final stage of the African Cup of Nations and the first two matches from the last eight take place this evening.

Nigeria are up against Angola at 17:00 GMT while DR Congo face Guinea at 20:00.

Aston Villa

Aston Villa boss Unai Emery on the signing of Morgan Rogers from Middlesbrough: "Morgan is a young player, a talented player, who is from here. We were following him, and he played against us with Middlesbrough. We analysed him and I think for a lot of things – he’s young, his potential is big, he’s from Birmingham – we added one player in the squad who can play as a number eight, a number 10 or sometimes as a striker. His skills will be important for us.

On the transfer window as a whole: "It’s not very relevant, the transfer window in January, because the most important and strong structure we’ve tried to do, and did, in the summer transfer window. We are happy because we did small things like Bertrand Traore left and Kaine Kesler rejoined after he was on loan and playing well in the Championship. The Australian goalkeeper joined, a young player as well, and Morgan Rogers.

"I’m really happy because it’s not being relevant to do a lot of things [in January]. We tried to be intelligent and work to join some young players and talented players.”

Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi on the transfer market: "I don’t know we will see in the next game. It's not my business, the transfer market."

On Mahmoud Dahoud: "That can happen, it's not easy to change countries, it is not easy to come into this league. The Premier League is different to the other leagues. Maybe he didn’t find the right condition to play at his level."

Aston Villa

Aston Villa boss Unai Emery confirmed the club still without defenders Pau Torres and Lucas Digne for the trip to Sheffield United while attacking midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo is doubtful.

"He is getting better, he is practising on the pitch. That is the first step before he can join us next week," Emery said of Torres.

On Zaniolo, he added: “He felt this morning in training some pain. He was not feeling good and did not finish the session. He is not in the squad. Hopefully it is not a big problem.”

Bournemouth

Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola has said there are no new injury concerns following Thursday's draw with West Ham and winger Dango Ouattara may be in contention after returning from the Africa Cup of Nations.

However, Iraola did say it was "not an easy game" for Lloyd Kelly, who was substituted off with cramp, adding it "was demanding and physical" against midfielder Jarrod Bowen.

Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi on team news: "James Milner is not available. He can't play, he needs, I don’t know how much time. For the next two, three, four games, he can't play.

"Joao Pedro, tomorrow we will decide.

"Ansu Fati maybe can come on the bench. I don’t know how much time he can play. Tomorrow morning, we will talk with the medical staff and make the decision"

Arsenal

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta on the incident between Ben White and Oleksandr Zinchenko at the final whistle against Nottingham Forest: "They are living together now, they are best mates! You don't argue with someone you don't have a great relationship with. That happens because you have the trust and chemistry to react the way you did.

"Do like it? I love it. As long as it's in a respectful way and only with the intention to be more demanding and better as a team, and it stays there, I'm very happy with that."

On whether it was acceptable: "Maybe we have a different understanding of what the word 'fight' means. A little bit emotional after the game when you are 200 beats a minute. It's normal. Nothing new. I want to see passion and commitment from my players. I want my players to have desire always to be better. In order to do that we have to be demanding of each other, otherwise it's Disneyland."

Bournemouth

Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola has been speaking to the media before his side face Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.

Iraola is unsure if new signing Enes Unal will be able to feature on Sunday as he is waiting for news on his visa application.

"He’s a complete number nine. He’s a threat from long range, from free-kicks and overall he’s just really good."

Arsenal

Mikel Arteta on whether Liverpool's players will be extra determined because of Jurgen Klopp's decision to leave at the end of the season: "I don't have a clue. Hopefully not. I am not in that position so I only understand how we are in our position.

"Will I miss Klopp? Absolutely. I think he's going to be a big loss. He's been an inspiration and someone who has added a new dimension to the Premier League. I am really attracted by his way of playing, setting up teams, and transforming a club as well. He will be missed but for now he is here."

Luton Town

Luton Town boss Rob Edwards on playing against Newcastle: "Of course they will [make it difficult]. When I think of St James' Park, it's as close to Anfield. Those places can make a lot of noise. We have got to be ready for all that. They had a fantastic result against Aston Villa, no one can beat Villa at the moment at Villa Park. It'll be a tough game. We're in good form and I can't wait."

Arsenal

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta on his team's mentality to face Liverpool having suffered a home defeat to them in the FA Cup last month: "We have had the opportunity to refresh and reconnect again when we went to Dubai. We had a long period then between the Forest and Palace games.

"My feeling is that we continue to play really well and need to be much efficient in the final third and that's helpful for the forthcoming matches.

"This season we have beat big teams already and this is another good opportunity to beat Liverpool and be in a better place. We talk about momentum and we won the last two games and we want to win the third one, especially at home with our people.

"It's going to be an incredible atmosphere and we need that. So I encourage everyone to play with us every single ball."
