Newcastle v Luton Town (Saturday, 15:00 GMT)

    Newcastle United

Newcastle assistant manager Jason Tindall on strikers: "I think we've got two outstanding strikers that are very different in the way they play. They are both such a goal threat. We've been unlucky that we have not had them fit for so long. We know we have Anthony Gordon who can play up front, he's done that job very well.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp on an injury Darwin Nunez picked up against Chelsea: "I don't know if Darwin is available. After 20 minutes someone stood on his foot. It was very painful after the game. He only took his [football] boot off after the game because he knew it was something. He left the stadium in a boot, and it was not a football boot. So nothing broken, x-ray clear. But swollen. We have to see if his foot can get back in a boot, or not! Because that takes time. I've not seen him yet so we'll see. Going into a game with this pain it show so much more."

On whether Nunez missing chances affects him: "It does impact him, of course. he's a human being. If it didn't affect him that would be strange. But he knows he'll another chance. The penalty miss, that hit him definitely.

"I don't judge Darwin because of the crossbar moments, I judge him for the assist for Lucho [Luis Diaz] because that was late in the game and super decisive for us. That was outstanding football wise, not being bothered by your own bad luck. He stayed in the game and I am more than happy with him. A record of hitting the crossbar, I get it is interesting, but I that's as close as you can get and Darwin will score."

West Ham boss David Moyes on Erik ten Hag: "Erik is in a privileged position, to be manager of Manchester United. I think he understands and respects it.

"I think he's tried to enforce the way he wants his team to play and work, and I can only give him credit for that. When you're in that job, you're expected to win and play well, and I respect that.

"They certainly got a great result away at Wolves last night."

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp on selection dilemmas against Arsenal: "It's not a challenge. For the first time this season we have a kind of a luxury problem. We have more players available for different positions than we can start. It's absolutely no problem.

"It's the only week where we only have one midweek game. After that we go again every three days. So we need all of them in a good shape. We had a lot of injuries throughout the season but we were lucky because the others could deal with it. We had players who were still available, or came back from injury, at the right time."

West Ham boss David Moyes on Said Benrahma, Pablo Fornals and the transfer window: "It looks like there have been some problems with the paperwork [for Said Benrahma] at the last minute. But I only learned about it when I came off the pitch late last night.

New West Ham signing Kalvin Phillips had a debut to forget when he passed the ball straight to Dominic Solanke who put Bournemouth in front inside three minutes.

But West Ham were gifted a way back into the game in the 61st minute when Lloyd Kelly caught Mohammed Kudus in the penalty area and James Ward-Prowse fired his spot-kick straight down the middle.

The Hammers, without a win in their past four games, stay sixth in the Premier League table, while Bournemouth move 12th, eight points clear of the relegation zone.

Jesse Lingard still chasing the money. Does he seriously think he will be happy playing in South Korea? He's earned enough already to probably not need to work again if he lives reasonably. He should swallow his pride and give something back to the game....like go and play for Salford.....for nothing.

  19. 'Broja won't have to move house'published at 09:34 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February

    Nedum Onuoha
Former Manchester City defender on The Football News Show

I don't fully understand Armando Broja joining Fulham on loan given the fact that some people say Chelsea need a striker.

Nicolas Jackson is missing too many chances, Christopher Nkunku has been unavailable - so you would think Broja is the guy to go and fill that gap.

Is this the sort of Profit and Sustainability type situation where this is the value and he has to go?

The upside for him is that he's going from West London to West London so he won't have to move house.

  20. Gordon played 'like a nine and a half' - Wilsonpublished at 09:31 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February

Callum Wilson feels Anthony Gordon could make a good short-term option as Newcastle United's number nine after the former Everton forward impressed against Aston Villa on Tuesday.

With Wilson giving "no guarantees" of his availability for Saturday's game against Luton Town, and Alexander Isak limping off against Villa, boss Eddie Howe may need to employ Gordon up front from the start for the visit of the Hatters.

Wilson told the Footballer's Football Podcast that Gordon showed enough on Tuesday to suggest that would be a good solution.

"Anthony played fantastic down the middle," said Wilson. "He made some good runs in behind but mixed up his movement - coming short, going long.

"It was like a number nine and a half's performance and obviously he is so quick that he gives us the threat that perhaps Alex couldn't give while carrying an injury.

"At the weekend, he might find himself starting in that position as we don't have anyone else."
