Luton Town boss Rob Edwards on the transfer window: "I've had three January transfer windows as a manager, I don’t like them. It can be difficult and it can upset people. There's always stuff going on so we try to remain focused on the games.

"That’s the important thing but there is always questions. We are building with the group we have at the moment. It's important we kept the group together. We brought 13 players in the summer, that’s a lot for me that’s enough."

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou with a serious answer on the transfer window, this time: "From our perspective we had some clear objectives in there. One was we had a real gap at centre-back, particularly after letting Davinson Sanchez go after the window closed last time and getting Radu Dragusin early was great. Obviously getting Timo Werner early as well was also excellent for us.

"With the injuries we've had and with with Son Heung-min away, the beauty of getting them early is they have made a contribution. If we had left it to the last day yesterday it still takes time to settle. Both of them have settled well.

"Even in terms of outgoings, we got some good loans. With Alejo Veliz it's great for him to get game time at a good club in a good league. Also players like Ashley Phillips and Alfie Devine got good loans, too."

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino on whether Liverpool was a reality check: "Of course, a reality check. Liverpool are there because they deserve to be at the top of the table. It's a game we lose for different circumstances. Now we can talk in a different way and use different topics.

"It's so important to realise why. It's not only to work harder, but to improve as a team. In different periods of the game, we showed lack of experience as a team.

"Sometimes you can practice every single day but you have to arrive and show the right energy, the right attitude, to be brave, show personality and character. Football is also that.

"No it's not a reality check. It's the difference between a team that is playing consistently and challenging for four or five years."

Arsenal v Liverpool (Sunday, 16:30 GMT)

    Arsenal

He’s not going to be available in the squad for Liverpool. We don’t know if it’s a few days or weeks. He felt something in a very similar area and he wasn’t able to train the last few days.

"It is a big concern because he was such an important player for us. He was getting some momentum at the start of the season and then we lost him for a while. Now we have been a long time without him. He gives you something very different and the only one who can give you this in the squad. He's been a real miss."

He had a long trip. We'll assess him after training but fair to say he'll be involved, although not sure what extent."

"Now I can say after two days, it was a normal decision that happened during the game. Maybe after the end [of the game against Liverpool] we spoke in a different way.

"At the moment we can't complain, I had to defend my team and the fans. we just didn't have the luck. What I can say is sorry we didn't have the luck."

"Look at you all eh?! Ready to type away! I think his [press officer's] phone was going to blow up. I got you all going there didn't I? I felt you needed something after a bit of a flat day yesterday so I'm trying to spark things up for you!"

  20. Pep timepublished at 13:18 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February

Brentford v Man City (Monday, 20:00 GMT)

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport

Less time has passed since Manchester City's last game - a 3-1 win against Burnley on Wednesday - to the amount before their next - at Brentford on Monday, so it will be interesting to see what Pep Guardiola has to talk about today.

Brentford did the double over City last season. Liverpool were the last team to beat them in three Premier League games in succession between March 2015 and December 2016.

Striker Ivan Toney will clearly be a major threat. He scored both goals at the Etihad Stadium.
