    Everton 0-0 Mansfield

Michael Keane gets too tight and fouls Will Evans. He'll take those all night long.

  2. 'United playing like a non-league side'published at 21:02 British Summer Time 27 August

HT: Grimsby Town 2-0 Man Utd

    Dion Dublin
Former Aston Villa and Manchester United striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

As a Manchester United player in that dressing room I would be pretty embarrassed. Walking off the pitch at half time I would have been embarrassed. This cannot happen. They are playing like a non-league side, with all due respect to non-league, they would probably play better than United at the moment.

  3. KICK-OFFpublished at 21:01 British Summer Time 27 August

    Everton 0-0 Mansfield

Back under way in the only goalless match tonight.

    Diego Gomez

    That is surely that.

It is a scrappy one as Diego Gomez prods the ball in as Oxford struggle to deal with a corner.

The corner is sent in towards the back post by Max Bird but it's sails out of play.

Needs to be better than that.

  7. 'I don't think Amorim can come back from this'published at 20:59 British Summer Time 27 August

HT: Grimsby Town 2-0 Man Utd

    Chris Sutton
Former Premier League striker on BBC Radio 5 Live at Blundell Park

If Grimsby Town win tonight, I honestly don't think Ruben Amorim can come back from this. I don't think this is knee-jerk. The perception of him, not just to lose but in the manner in which United have played in the first half too.

  8. CLOSE!published at 20:58 British Summer Time 27 August

    Oxford 0-2 Brighton

The Oxford defence is under pressure and there's an important intervention by a defender to divert behind Ferdi Kadıoglu's shot that looked to be heading in at the near post.

    The stadium announcer couldn't resist.

He read through the other half time scores in the EFL Cup tonight and finished with Grimsby 2 Manchester United 0.

    The home fans cheered.

HT: Grimsby Town 2-0 Man Utd

    Dion Dublin
Former Aston Villa and Manchester United striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

I don't know what Onana is doing. For the second goal there is nothing at all, just a half-hearted attempt. I would be absolutely livid with my keeper doing that. I would expect to get smashed out of the way if my keeper is coming for a cross. But there was nothing at all.

  12. Postpublished at 20:57 British Summer Time 27 August

    Fulham 2-0 Bristol City

Tom Cairney wins the ball back well in the centre circle and finds Adama Traore.

He looks to shoot once again and it might be one of the worst shots I've ever seen.

  13. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 20:57 British Summer Time 27 August

    Oxford 0-2 Brighton

Brodie Spencer looks to have picked up an injury and the former Huddersfield defender is replaced by Louie Sibley for Oxford.

  14. Postpublished at 20:56 British Summer Time 27 August

    Fulham 2-0 Bristol City

Obvious I know but the next goal in this one is massive.

If Bristol City get it then it's very much game on.

Be interesting to see what - if any - changes Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim makes for the second half.

They can't be that bad again, can they?

  18. Postpublished at 20:54 British Summer Time 27 August

Max Bird goes direct to Sam Bell. He looks to control it on his chest in the box but the Fulham defence gets back and wins a goal kick.

    Needs more support up there.

HT: Grimsby Town 2-0 Man Utd

    Chris Sutton
Former Premier League striker on BBC Radio 5 Live at Blundell Park

Grimsby started the game with intent and then you are thinking, can you keep this going? They got a foothold, took the game to United, played with confidence, got crosses into the box and they have pummelled them. Grimsby have played with belief and commitment, United haven't.
