    Everton 0-0 Mansfield

Nathan Moriah-Welsh powers down the right wing and here come Mansfield. The cross is sent in towards Regan Hendry, he looks to take a touch with Michael Keane on the floor but he fails to control.

    Huge chance!

Do you think any of the United coaches might possibly suggest it's time to try a different system?

    Grimsby Town 2-0 Man Utd

    Chris Sutton
Former Premier League striker on BBC Radio 5 Live at Blundell Park

This is incredible. Absolutely incredible. At the start of the game you thought that United would eventually get some element of control - we haven't seen it.

    Grimsby 2-0 Man Utd

A rare Manchester United attack as Patrick Dorgu charges forward down the left. He whips a good ball in but Benjamin Sesko is beaten to it by a Grimsby defender.

    Everton 0-0 Mansfield

The great thing about the EFL Cup is when everyone starts saying they 'didn't want to win it anyway' as soon as their team is knocked out.

  7. 'Amorim could take off any of the United players'published at 20:38 British Summer Time 27 August

    Grimsby Town 2-0 Man Utd

    Chris Sutton
Former Premier League striker on BBC Radio 5 Live at Blundell Park

I think Ruben Amorim has to look to his bench at half time. The truth is he could probably take off any of the Manchester United players. They have been that poor, that insipid.

Grimsby fans serenading Amorim with “you’ll be sacked in the morning”. At this rate I’m not sure he’ll last that long.

    Grimsby 2-0 Man Utd

Manchester United's Tyler Fredricson is booked for a foul and Grimsby have another free-kick in a position decent enough to worry the Manchester United defence once more.

The ball is initially played short before Cameron Gardner flicks a header across the face of goal.

  10. Postpublished at 20:37 British Summer Time 27 August

    Everton 0-0 Mansfield

Charly Alcaraz is playing well in the middle for Everton and he looks to slide in Dwight McNeil but his flick on for Thierno Barry goes the wrong side.

  11. Postpublished at 20:35 British Summer Time 27 August

    Everton 0-0 Mansfield

Jack Grealish threads Harrison Armstrong through the Mansfield defence and he should square it for Thierno Barry but he shoots instead.

    Wrong decision.

If I were the manager I'd remove Onana immediately and play Heaton who is the best of our keepers. We are a laughing stock.

Now the Grimsby fans have changed their song to reflect their superiority.

I suspect Ruben Amorim will be making changes at half-time.

    Grimsby 2-0 Man Utd

Just over 10 minutes to go until half time and there's nothing fortunate about this two-goal lead for Grimsby. They have looked the Premier League side here. They are comfortable.

  17. Postpublished at 20:33 British Summer Time 27 August

Hefty tackle from Louis Reed on Jack Grealish. Reed wins the ball but catches Grealish - who stays down before gingerly getting to his feet.

If this performance doesn't convince you to support your local club instead of the big 6, nothing will. Brilliant by Grimsby!

    Chris Sutton

Incredible. Absolutely incredible The ball is whipped in from the left hand side and Onana was flapping and he misses it completely. He's got to get it and he doesn't.

The easiest of finishes as it was fumbled over the line by Warren. Where do United go from here?
