Aston Villa 0-0 Manchester United: Erik ten Hag 'very pleased' after goalless draw

Shall we have a look at what Erik ten Hag actually said following Sunday's 0-0 draw at Aston Villa.

In the immediate aftermath, the Dutchman said that he was "pleased" with the resolve his players showed to keep a clean sheet at a top-four side.

"I think the performance of United was very good - defending but also the in possession part, I think we controlled the game," he told BBC's Match of the Day.

"I think it was in balance - we created some chances, but not loads. On the other side, also Villa couldn't create chances so the two teams kept each other in balance."

He added: "This is our fourth clean sheet, so you can tell we are going in a good direction."

What do you think? Are Manchester United going in a "good direction"? Thumbs up for yes, down for no.
