  19. 'Tranmere looking to gain ground on Harrogate'published at 12:24 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December

    Tranmere v Harrogate (12:30 GMT)

    Nigel AdkinsImage source, Rex Features

It’s just the one win in six league games for Tranmere as they host Harrogate at Prenton Park. In their last outing they fell to a 3-2 defeat at Rotherham on Tuesday and suffered their third league defeat in four games when they lost at Chesterfield before that last Saturday.

Nigel Adkins’ side who are unbeaten across their eight Football League games against Harrogate (W5 D3), will see this as a big opportunity to steer away from the relegation zone and gain ground on Harrogate with three points separating the two sides in the league.

Harrogate go into this on the back of a 3-0 home defeat against AFC Wimbledon last time out. That was their fifth defeat in their past seven league games.

The Sulphurites will be looking to avoid back-to-back defeats today having just notched the one win in 10 meetings against Tranmere.

They have won just two of their last eight league games (D1 L5), though their last win did come away from home against Gillingham in November.

  20. 'Magpies aiming to get play-off hunt back on track'published at 12:22 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December

    Stuart MaynardImage source, Rex Features

Salford welcome Notts County in what will be the fourth competitive meeting between both of these sides with Salford having the best of previous results (W2 L1).

Karl Robinson’s side who sit 12th in the League Two table will be looking to win successive matches at the Peninsula Stadium for just the second time in 2024 after beating Harrogate Town 2-0 in their last home league game.

Notts County return to action and remain just two points adrift from the play-off positions despite their game against Colchester being postponed last Saturday due to Storm Darragh.

The Magpies will be hoping to get three points today, though, and get back in the play-off hunt after picking up just the one win in their past six league games.
