Seb Palmer-Houlden's late goal ended the League 1 side's challenge

Simon Murray scored twice as Dundee progressed to the Last 16 of the Premier Sports Cup thanks to two late goals against Annan Athletic in Group D.

Playing at Glebe Park due to Dens Park's incomplete upgrade, the Dark Blues appeared at home in the different surroundings as Simon Murray scored his first goal since returning to the club this summer.

Tommy Goss did promptly reply for the League 1 side to make it an uncomfortable evening for Tony Docherty's Premiership side.

However, striker Murray, who returned to Dundee from Ross County this summer, buried his second with five minutes remaining before Seb Palmer-Houlden ensured the victory in stoppage time.

Dundee are through as group winners with one game to spare after Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Arbroath ended goalless in the Highlands, with the visitors picking up the penalty shoot-out bonus point.
