    Rangers 1-0 Ross County

    Kheredine Idessane
    BBC Scotland at Hampden

Nearly lots of egg all over County goalkeeper Ross Laidlaw's face.

He went to clear the ball upfield and nearly missed it completely, to his complete embarrassment as the ball scooped up in the air and, luckily for him, landed at the feet of a surprised visiting defender

  2. Postpublished at 15:41 British Summer Time 24 August

    Dundee United 0-0 St Johnstone

Big penalty claim at Tannadice. Saints midfielder Matt Smith twists and turns away from Kristijan Trapanovski on the right before getting in front of him and falling over in the box.

Don Robertson is not interested and play goes on. No VAR intervention either.

Moments later, visiting striker Benjamin Kimpioka goes down as he tries to get on the end of a cross. Nothing either.

  3. CLOSE!published at 15:40 British Summer Time 24 August

    Rangers 1-0 Ross County

Rangers should be out of sight.

A ball over the top of the County defence finds Rabbi Matondo in acres, but the winger's header is somehow planted wide.

Oh, the flag is up anyway. Should still score though.

Both sets of fans are doing well to keep up their noisy support in this one - and, fair play to them, it can't be easy as it's not been a great spectacle so far.

Hopefully their passion can spill on to the pitch and encourage the players.

  5. Stanway's red could be costlypublished at 15:37 British Summer Time 24 August

    Falkirk 0-0 Partick Thistle

    Andy Burke
BBC Sport Scotland at Falkirk Stadium

Having already picked up an earlier booking, Ben Stanway's decision to throw himself to the ground in the Falkirk area looking for a penalty was crazy.

As dives go, it fooled no-one and, crucially, not referee Lloyd Wilson, who promptly brandished the second yellow and then the red.

Big test for Thistle being a man down, but they have responded pretty well so far and Ricco Diak forced a good save from Nicky Hogarth in the Falkirk goal.

  6. New Tavernier role?published at 15:36 British Summer Time 24 August

    Rangers 1-0 Ross County

James Tavernier is playing like a centre-mid during Rangers' build-up.

It's meaning Dujon Sterling is covering wide on the right.

I wonder if Rangers might regret their profligacy in the first quarter of this match.

They could - arguably should - be three up here, with Tom Lawrence shooting wide when it seemed easier to score and Rabbi Matondo skimming the crossbar.

County are making too many mistakes, while Rangers are slicing through them with apparent ease.

If the Staggies don't improve, and quickly, this game will be gone. That said, Rangers may regret not taking their chances.

    Hibernian 0-1 Dundee

Hibs have a free kick about 20 yards out, but Nicky Cadden's effort strikes the wall.

It's not been a good start. Dundee are finding gaps all over the place.

  11. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 15:28 British Summer Time 24 August

    Rangers 1-0 Ross County

Cyriel Dessers breaks into the County box again before being denied by a sliding challenge.

The ball rolls kindly for Rabbi Matondo, but the winger smashes it off the crossbar.

  12. Postpublished at 15:27 British Summer Time 24 August

    Dundee United 0-0 St Johnstone

St Johnstone have their first shot and it comes from near the halfway line.

Jack Walton is closed down quickly and his clearance comes to Matt Smith, who only has one thing in his mind and tries to chip the goalkeeper from distance.

Sadly, it drifts a few yards wide.

He tends to divide opinion, a bit like Marmite. One thing you can't argue with is his goal return.

Cyriel Dessers is already on four goals for a season very much in its infancy. He took Rangers' opener extremely well.

Really nice move from Rangers, with a surging run from impressive-looking left-back Jefte starting it off.

  14. Postpublished at 15:25 British Summer Time 24 August

    Rangers 1-0 Ross County

The gaps for Rangers on the break are quite something.

More goals for them in this, no doubt about it.

  15. Gray day at backpublished at 15:25 British Summer Time 24 August

    Hibernian 0-1 Dundee

    Allan Preston
Former Hearts defender on BBC Sportsound

This back four looks like they've never played together.

    They're all over the place.

David Gray was a very accomplished full-back himself, so that would be an area you'd think the Hibs boss would know.

They don't look like a unit at all.

  17. CLOSE!published at 15:24 British Summer Time 24 August

    Rangers 1-0 Ross County

It's roles reversed as Cyriel Dessers sends Tom Lawrence clean through, but the Rangers midfielder drags wide of the far post.

He's got to score. At the very least, he must force the goalkeeper into a stop.

  18. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 15:23 British Summer Time 24 August

    Hibernian 0-1 Dundee

Lyall Cameron thinks he's made it 2-0 to Dundee - but it's disallowed for offisde.

Referee Colin Steven has his hand to his ear. It does look as though Seb Palmer-Houlden was just offside when he got in the way of the initial shot.

It came back to Cameron and the midfielder's shot hit off a Hibs defender and went in.

    It's been confirmed. Offside.

Ouch!published at 15:23 British Summer Time 24 August

    Dundee United 0-0 St Johnstone

Now David Babunski is down holding his face. The United skipper has more of a claim.

The replay shows Saints centre-back Jack Sanders caught him with a swinging arm as he won the ball back. Nothing given, but it's very cheeky.

  20. Lawrence to forepublished at 15:22 British Summer Time 24 August

    Rangers 1-0 Ross County

    Rory Loy
Former Dundee striker on BBC Sportsound

It's really good feet by Tom Lawrence.

As well as you do have your defensive responsibilities, if you're playing as a 10, you do want to be creating opportunities.

Cyriel Dessers slips it from his right to his left and it's a great finish.
