  1. CLOSE!published at 21:01 British Summer Time 28 August 2024

    West Ham 0-0 Bournemouth

Oh big chance for Bournemouth. Marcus Tavernier gets into the box on the left after a good attacking move. He has Dango Ouattara available square and in space but Tavernier goes for it himself and his shot is deflected behind.

    We have goal number five!

It's patient stuff from the Saints, and Cameron Archer receives possession before spinning past Dimitrios Goutas and drilling into the net.

That's his first goal for the club, and he celebrates with the presumably trademarked 'bow and arrow' gesture.

The League Two side have turned it around. Wow!

It's a game of headers and this time it's Mathew Stevens who's risen highest from a corner to put Wimbledon into the lead.

A reminder that Wimbledon were a goal down after just three minutes. What a turnaround this is.

    Wolves 2-0 Burnley

Wolves couldn't really be much more comfortable right now. They're two goals to the good and look the most likely to score next.

Burnley, with just the one man up front, aren't really causing much of a threat.

    Colchester 0-1 Brentford

Nervy moment for Colchester as Kevin Schade intercepts a back pass but can't get around the goalkeeper before it rolls out of play.

It's not been completely seamless at the other end though. Brentford are being caught out at the back too.

At times Sandro Tonali was breathing heavy, but he's done well.

He has been combative and he has controlled it. When you come back into he team you don't want to get caught on the ball, he's also played it forward when needed to.

Eddie Howe will be pretty pleased with Tonali.

  9. 'Treated to a goalfest'published at 20:57 British Summer Time 28 August 2024

    Cardiff City 2-2 Southampton

    Ian Mitchelmore
BBC Sport Wales at the Cardiff City Stadium

This game takes yet another twist!

Just four minutes into the second-half, Raheem Conte crosses from the right, and goalkeeper Joe Lumley palms the ball away, although it hits his own player Ronnie Edwards and trickles into the Southampton net.

There must only be six or seven thousand fans here tonight, but they're certainly being treated to a goalfest!

    West Ham 0-0 Bournemouth

Evanilson is causing West Ham problems. He bursts through on the left and tries to clip the ball into the far corner, but it bounces wide.

Cardiff City are back level again.

It's an unfortunate own goal by Southampton's Ronnie Edwards, who ends up poking in a cross at the near post as he tries to clear it.

It's good work from Raheem Conte down the right in the build-up.

  12. 'Forest have grown into the game'published at 20:53 British Summer Time 28 August 2024

Forest have grown into it, but they haven't tested Nick Pope.

It has been an entertaining game and Forest still have the big players to come off the bench.

  13. Postpublished at 20:53 British Summer Time 28 August 2024

    AFC Wimbledon 1-1 Ipswich

Nice run down the left for Ipswich new boy Jack Clarke. He couldn't quite find a team-mate on this occasion but Wimbledon will want to limit the amount of chances they give the former Sunderland man.

  14. Postpublished at 20:53 British Summer Time 28 August 2024

    Colchester 0-1 Brentford

An early shot from Brentford but it's way over from Ryan Trevitt and he's met with a round of sarcastic cheers from the frustrated home fans.

Silva Moreira is catching the eye.

Up against a Premier League team and he's doing ever so well.

Moreira is causing Newcastle a lot of problems, remember he is only 18-years-old

Nice tweet from Wycombe highlighting the goal from Richard Kone that gave them a first-half lead.

He scored a double against Little Oakley First in the Essex Senior Football League Premier Division this time last year.

Now he's scoring against Championship opposition in the Carabao Cup.

    Can Wycombe hold on?
