    Stefan Gartenmann's header takes Aberdeen above Motherwell into eighth spot and, crucially, eight points clear of second bottom Ross County.

    Jack Vale's sending off for Motherwell for a high tackle on Jack Mackenzie was the turning point, with Gartenmann heading in from a corner five minutes later.,

    Aberdeen had so many chances to make it more comfortable, and in the end it was a nervy finish.

    However, Peter Leven's side hang on for an important win.

    The visitors were streets ahead and should really have scored a few more.
