Two goals in three minutes secured Salford an FA Cup third-round place for the first time in their history as they beat League Two rivals Cheltenham Town.
Frankie Okoronkwo opened the scoring in the 20th minute before Cole Stockton converted a penalty two minutes later.
Cheltenham missed a penalty of their own as they failed to find a breakthrough despite heavy pressure in the second half.
Salford took the lead after cutting Cheltenham open and Kelly N'Mai's effort was blocked, but Okoronkwo dispatched the rebound.
Tyrese Fornah was gifted a chance to make it 2-0 by Scot Bennett's mistake, but Joe Day saved.
Day was beaten again however in the 22nd minute when Jordan Thomas tripped N'Mai in the box and Stockton made no mistake from the spot.
Cheltenham improved, but after Liam Dulson was fouled in the box, Matt Taylor's penalty was parried to safety by Young in the 70th minute.
