  1. Age old foes in a Lancashire hot spotpublished at 14:43 BST 30 August

    Blackpool v Bolton (15:00 BST)

You wouldn’t have found many people expecting these two grand old clubs to be among the slowest starters in League One this season.

In fairness the Trotters have begun better than the Tangerines, Steve Bruce’s men have lost four of their five league games, have the division’s worst defence and were dumped out of the EFL Cup dismally by Port Vale in round one.

Steven Schumacher’s Wanderers made it three straight draws last time out at Lincoln courtesy of an injury-time own-goal and have scored five and conceded five to earn six points from their first five matches, though the Trotters have also hit the woodwork five times too, more than any other side in the division.

As we know these clubs go way back - 1953 FA Cup Final and all that - but remarkably Bolton are seeking a first win at Bloomfield Road since 1977, with Blackpool unbeaten in a dozen games in this rivalry since then, claiming 24 points in total.

  2. Tykes and Terriers aim to keep up the pacepublished at 14:40 BST 30 August

    Barnsley v Huddersfield (15:00 BST)

There's another Yorkshire derby to look forward to this afternoon, and if anything this one is even more intriguing

New boss Conor Hourihane has lost only one game in charge of the Tykes in all competitions, last Saturday’s 2-0 reverse at Wimbledon, which ended their unbeaten start, though they have also progressed through two rounds of the EFL Cup and will host Brighton in round three.

Lee Grant has made an even better start to life at the Terriers, picking up four wins from their opening five games to sit two points and four places ahead of Barnsley in second and toppling Leicester and Sunderland in the EFL Cup to book a dream home date with Man City in round three.

League One top-scorers Town are on a three-match winning streak against Barnsley and another would make it their best run against the Reds since 1957, however they have won only one of the past six at Oakwell, with Barnsley claiming 11 points from those encounters.

This is one you won't want to miss...

  5. Postpublished at 14:34 BST 30 August

With the early fixtures done and dusted, let's take a look at what's still to come this afternoon.

  6. 'I still think there are a few positions that need to be filled'published at 14:29 BST 30 August

    FT: Cardiff 4-0 Plymouth

    Jake Ball
Plymouth Supporter on BBC Radio Devon

I think the lack of experience in Pepple showed today.

Argyle need players that are ready right now. If they want to be pushing for promotion, we need players now, it's all well and good having developmental players in there.

I still think there are a few positions that need to be filled before the deadline on Monday night.

  7. FULL-TIMEpublished at 14:28 BST 30 August

    Barrow 0-1 Fleetwood

It's all over at Holker Street as Fleetwood pick up their first league win in three games thanks to Ryan Graydon's first half strike.

It was an uphill task for Barrow after Niall Canavan's red card after 10 minutes but to their credit Andy Whing's side did press for an equaliser in the second half.

But it's the Cod Army who bag the three points with Pete Wild's side moving up to seventh in League Two ahead of the 15:00 BST kick-offs.

  8. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 14:27 BST 30 August

    Barrow 0-1 Fleetwood

Barrow's Lewis Shipley has the ball in the net, but it's been disallowed for a foul on the keeper.

  9. FULL-TIMEpublished at 14:27 BST 30 August

    Crewe 0-3 Swindon

Swindon leapfrog above Chesterfield into second place - for the time being at least - on goals scored, with both sides level on points and goal difference.

They also move level on points with Crewe who stay top, for now, on goal difference from the Robins. Chesterfield host Crawley at 3pm.

That’s four wins from the past five league matches for Swindon but back-to-back defeats for Crewe after starting the season with four straight wins.

They didn’t really show any signs of a comeback after a disastrous first half, with Swindon looking the likelier scorers after the break.

A first clean sheet of the season from the Robins as Crewe muster just two attempts on target all match.

  10. FULL-TIMEpublished at 14:27 BST 30 August

    Cardiff 4-0 Plymouth

Cardiff have a bit of Birmingham about them from last season, you know...

Another thumping win, another clean sheet, and that's back-to-back wins against sides relegated from the Championship with them last season.

Argyle were plucky but three goals in 10 minutes either side of the break did for them.

Ryan Wintle's fizzer into the top corner and Chris Willock's deflected effort made it 2-0 at the break and then Rubin Colwill also found the net via a deflection off the hapless Brendan Wiredu after the turnaround.

Isaak Davies capped a good day's work with a late fourth and unbeaten City continue to set the pace in League One, whereas Tom Cleverley's Plymouth have lost five of their opening six games

  11. 'It's hard to judge'published at 14:26 BST 30 August

    Cardiff 4-0 Plymouth

    Jake Ball
Plymouth Supporter on BBC Radio Devon

The problem is that we haven't been bad, but we're still losing 4-0.

It's hard to judge, I don't think anyone went into this expecting Plymouth to win.

  12. Postpublished at 14:25 BST 30 August

    Crewe 0-3 Swindon

This game is petering out, if the second half really got going at all.

The Crewe fans have been streaming out for some time now. Blow the whistle, ref!

Tom Booth gets down well to keep out a low angled shot from Princewill Ehibhatiomhan after a lovely pass from Daniel Butterworth.

Swindon have been in total control.

  13. Postpublished at 14:24 BST 30 August

    Cardiff 3-0 Plymouth

    Dafydd Pritchard
BBC Sport Wales at Cardiff City Stadium

Remarkably, the only league goal Cardiff have conceded this season was a first-half penalty against Peterborough United in their opening game.

Cardiff have now gone nearly nine hours without conceding in League One.

There is a long way to go in this campaign but they could not have wished for a better start to their mission of making an instant return to the Championship.

  14. CLOSE!published at 14:23 BST 30 August

    Barrow 0-1 Fleetwood

Barrow come close again but Jack Earing's volley is superbly tipped over by Jay Lynch.

    We're into added time.

  15. 'You have to give credit to the Barrow defence'published at 14:23 BST 30 August

    Barrow 0-1 Fleetwood

    David Unsworth
Former Burnley and Everton defender on BBC Radio Lancashire

For the majority of the game, we've been more than comfortable, we just haven't been able to get that second goal.

You have to give credit to the Barrow defence and the goalkeeper.

  16. FULL-TIMEpublished at 14:22 BST 30 August

    Doncaster 1-0 Rotherham

Another 1-0 for the Rovers, with Owen Bailey the match-winner again.

Bailey's first-half header, via the back of his bonce/top of his shoulder, is the difference in a well-contested south Yorkshire derby.

Rovers did strike the woodwork through Glenn Middleton and Tom Nixon but had to withstand a barrage of set-pieces from the Millers, who just couldn't find a way of really testing Thimothee Lo-Tutala.

Rovers are looking like a League One promotion chaser already. The Millers have work to do.

  17. goal

GOAL: Cardiff 4-0 Plymouthpublished at 14:22 BST 30 August

    Isaak Davies (90+1 min)

Lovely solo goal to put the seal on it.

Isaak Davies picks up the ball on the left and glides into the area, past a couple of defenders, before lashing in a right-footed effort which Luca Ashby-Hammond cannot prevent from flashing into the far corner, despite getting two hands on it.

A good day for the Bluebirds, less so for Argyle.

  18. Postpublished at 14:22 BST 30 August

    Doncaster 1-0 Rotherham

Into added time and another high ball into the Rovers box is cleared only to the lurking Jordan Hugill on the edge of the box.

His first-time volley flashes wide of the upright and his 18-match scoreless streak goes on.

  19. 'Something we have to work on'published at 14:20 BST 30 August

    Cardiff 3-0 Plymouth

    Jake Ball
Plymouth Supporter on BBC Radio Devon

We saw towards the end of last season, we had a defence that shipped 80-plus goals last season.

I do think we look better, but it's definitely something we have to work on.

  20. Postpublished at 14:19 BST 30 August

    Crewe 0-3 Swindon

Ollie Palmer goes close to a debut goal as he brings down Princewill Ehibhatiomhan's long cross on his chest neatly and smashes a shot from an acute angle.

Tom Booth makes another stop at his near post.

At the other end, Louis Moult tries to catch out Swindon keeper Connor Ripley with a shot from range, but it's comfortable enough.

We're heading into six minutes of stoppage time.
