A win for second placed Sheffield United today would temporarily move them level on points with league leader Leeds United.

Leeds do not play until tomorrow when they travel to the south coast to play Portsmouth.

The Blades have won four of their last five games and face a Preston North End side that have won just one of their last five matches.

The Lilywhites are 15th in the division, 12 points clear of the bottom three and nine points off the top six.

Sheffield United have won each of their last three league games against Preston North End and could win four in succession for the first time since November 1968.

Preston have failed to win any of their last seven league games against Sheffield United, since a 1-0 win at Bramall Lane in April 2018.

Incredible end to the game again.

This game should have been done and dusted in the first half. Two goal lead and should have had a penalty but somewhere Coventry lost control, two bad goals to concede.

But you can never write Coventry off and it's Bobby Thomas with an unbelievable strike. He won't hit one better than that.

Coventry had this in the bag with a first-half double from Victor Torp but needed a third goal in the seventh minute of injury time to snatch the points.

Josh Eccles also hit a post and the home side will point to not being awarded what appeared to be a nailed-on penalty when Stoke goalkeeper Viktor Johansson took out Mason Ephron-Clark.

Stoke boss Mark Robins, on his return to his former club, rang the changes in the second period and one of them, Sam Gallagher popped-up with a double of his own and looked like they had snaffled a point from nowhere.

But step forward Bobby Thomas in the 97th minute as he steadied himself inside the area and lashed a left-footer beyond Johansson.

Frank Lampard writes his own headlines it seems.

    A magnificent strike.

I didn't think that third goal was coming.

Coventry just need to keep it tight now.

    They've done it again.

Bobby Thomas will never hit a ball better than that even if he plays until he's 45.

    Oh my word!

Bobby Thomas on his left foot steadies himself and lashes the ball past Viktor Johansson from just inside the box.

    He's a centre-back!

    Amazing.

    Watford 1-2 Millwall

There's no time for the corner as the final whistle goes!

Millwall seal a brilliant comeback with second-half goals from Casper De Norre and Josh Coburn, after Mattie Pollock had given Watford a half-time lead.

Tom Cleverley will wonder how this one got away, with his play-off chasing side firmly in control.

Yet they now sit just one point ahead of Alex Neil's Millwall, whose hopes of a spot in the play-offs continue.

  13. YELLOW CARDSpublished at 14:22 Greenwich Mean Time 8 March

Coventry's Matt Grimes takes out Bae Junho and is cautioned before Stoke's Wouter Burger joins him on the naughty list.

    Stoke will fancy their chances.

Coventry have to be careful they don't lose this game now.

  15. CLOSE!published at 14:22 Greenwich Mean Time 8 March

    Watford 1-2 Millwall

So close and should be game over for the visitors.

Mihailo Ivanovic gets a foot in to rob the Watford defender and Aaron Connolly's shot is well saved by Egil Selvik.

  16. Postpublished at 14:21 Greenwich Mean Time 8 March

    Coventry 2-2 Stoke

Wow - Stoke almost go in front.

Wouter Burger at the far post attempts an audacious back-heel into the ground and it's about an inch over the bar.

Coventry need to mind their work now.

  17. Postpublished at 14:21 Greenwich Mean Time 8 March

    Watford 1-2 Millwall

The referee blows for a Millwall free-kick from the corner and now Lukas Jensen has the ball in his hands.

There'll be no rush to take it and time is running out for the Hornets, who at one stage were destined for the top six.

  18. 'An easy header for Gallagher'published at 14:20 Greenwich Mean Time 8 March

    Coventry 2-2 Stoke

    Steve Ogrizovic
Ex-Coventry City goalkeeper on BBC CWR

It's an easy header for Gallagher.

Coventry have not defended the run through very well and they've let the two goal lead slip.

Coventry have been uneasy when Stoke have gone forward.

I can still see them getting another goal but I can also see Stoke getting one.

    Sam Gallagher (86 mins)

    Incredible!

Coventry give away a needless free-kick through Jay Dasilva and Sam Gallagher heads in for his second of the afternoon.

It might be a decent return for Mark Robins after all. They've fought back from 2-0 down at half-time!
