  1. CHANCEpublished at 12:49 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2024

    Bromley 0-0 Swindon Town

The visitors have settled nicely into this one and when the ball breaks to Nnamdi Ofoborh on the edge of the penalty area, his strike goes just wide of Grant Smith's left hand post when he probably should have done better.

Ian Holloway's six changes to his team looks like it has given Town fresh impetus early on at Hayes Lane.

  2. CLOSE!published at 12:47 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2024

    Charlton 0-0 Wycombe

Great work from Charlton's Tyreece Campbell driving down the left byline towards goal before cutting back into the middle where Luke Berry can only scuff his close-range volley into the ground and up into the grateful arms of Wycombe keeper Franco Ravizzoli.

A let-off for the visitors, that. A proper connection and that was surely 1-0.

  3. Postpublished at 12:47 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2024

    Rotherham 0-1 Stockport

Rotherham boss Steve Evans will be unhappy at how his defence backed off Louie Barry for the goal.

It already feels a long way back given they have only managed 19 league goals all season.

    Still plenty of time though.

  4. Postpublished at 12:44 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2024

    Charlton 0-0 Wycombe

As you might expect of a side seeking to make it a club record 20 games unbeaten, Wycombe have settled the quicker, though it remains a rather soporific start to proceedings, possibly predictably on a Sunday lunchtime four days after Christmas I suppose.

Luke Berry has dragged a snap-shot wide of the upright for the hosts after a bit of a scramble in the Wanderers area, but that's been the Addicks' only sight of goal so far.

    Louie Barry (13 mins)

    He's done it again...

Some neat build-up on the Rotherham right finds Louie Barry 20 yards out, he takes a touch before arrowing an effort beyond Dillon Phillips.

It's his 15th league goal of the campaign.

  6. goal

    Kadeem Harris (11 minutes)

The EFL's bottom side hit the front early on!

Good football down the left hand side allows Jon Mellish to get to the barline.

His pull-back finds Kadeem Harris who stretches out to direct his shot high into the Stanley goal from six yards out to give Mike Williamson's side a vital lead.

Can the Cumbrians build on their good start?

  7. Postpublished at 12:42 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2024

    Rotherham 0-0 Stockport

A free-kick for Rotherham midway inside the visitors' half.

Joe Powell has a dip from distance and it takes a nick on the way through before going wide of the post.

The corner is fielded comfortably by Ben Hinchliffe.

  8. Postpublished at 12:39 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2024

    Rotherham 0-0 Stockport

Away goes Louie Barry for Stockport with neither Liam Kelly or Hakeem Odoffin able to prevent him running through on goal.

Dillon Phillips smothers the shot before the flag is raised for offside but it's a warning for Rotherham.

  9. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 12:39 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2024

    Bromley 0-0 Swindon

A long throw from Bromley defender Omar Sowunmi is not properly dealt with by the Swindon Town defence and Michael Cheek goes down in the box following a challenge, but nothing doing for the referee.

Moments before that, Swindon midfielder Gavin Kilkenny has a shot from distance but it is easily held by Bromley keeper Grant Smith.

    Good start to this one.

  10. CLOSE!published at 12:38 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2024

    Charlton 0-0 Wycombe

A few eyebrows raised at Richard Kone being handed a rest by Wanderers boss Matt Bloomfield today, but evergreen Garath McClearly is pulling wide and dragging the Addicks defenders all over the place and showcasing their strength in depth.

It's been a low-key opening five minutes but Wycombe forward Beryly Lubala has injected a bit of impetus into proceedings with a 25-yard blast which flashed narrowly over Ashley Maynard-Brewer's crossbar.

  11. Postpublished at 12:35 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2024

    Rotherham 0-0 Stockport

A quick look at the comparative records of these two sides over their past 10 games gives a clear indication of their recent fortunes.

Rotherham have lost six out of 10 while Stockport have won six from their past 10 outings.

It's a quiet start to this one.

  12. CLOSE!published at 12:35 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2024

    Carlisle 0-0 Accrington Stanley

First shot in anger comes from the visitors as a deep free-kick eventually falls to Accrington's Liam Coyle. His excellent effort from 20 yards is well kept out by United keeper Gabriel Breeze, who tips the ball around the post.

  13. Postpublished at 12:32 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2024

    Charlton 0-0 Wycombe

Just a slight delay to proceedings at The Valley where kick-off is a couple of minutes late - by this point the Addicks were already ahead against Cambridge United on Boxing Day...

Wycombe in a slightly unfamiliar green and white number today, while Charlton are in their traditional red and white.

  14. Postpublished at 12:31 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2024

    Rotherham 0-0 Stockport

Rotherham will be pleased to have Zak Jules back from illness today after a chest infection kept him out of the Boxing Day defeat by Wigan while Millers fans seem delighted to see Nuremberg loanee Joseph Hungbo getting a rare start.

Stockport fans are getting the penultimate opportunity to see Louie Barry before he heads back to Aston Villa with a rumoured loan to a Championship club on the cards.

    Let's see...

  16. Addicks unchanged; Three changes for Wycombepublished at 12:29 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2024

    Charlton v Wycombe (12:30 GMT)

    Charlton XI

Charlton boss Nathan Jones has seen his side win back-to-back games in League One, most recently beating Cambridge United 2-1 on Boxing Day, so why tinker? He names an unchanged side.

Wanderers boss Matt Bloomfield has made three changes from the side which cruised past Stevenage 3-0 on 26 December.

Leading scorer Richard Kone and Fred Onyedinma, who have 17 league goals between them, drop to the bench along with Luke Leahy, with Garath McCleary, Tyreeq Bakinson and Daniel Udoh coming in.

    Wycombe XI
  17. Two changes for Rotherham; four for Stockportpublished at 12:27 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2024

Rotherham United v Stockport County (12:30 GMT)

There are two changes to the Rotherham United side from that which started the 1-0 Boxing Day defeat by Wigan.

Jamie McCart and Andre Green have to settle for substitute berths with Zak Jules and Joseph Hungbo getting the nod.

For Hungbo it's just the fifth start of the season for the on-loan Nuremberg forward.

    Stockport County make four changes.

Will Collar, Macauley Southam-Hales and Ryan Rydel drop to the bench but there's no place for Lewis Bate who has picked up an injury and Callum Camps is ill.

Into the starting line-up come Kyle Knoyle, Ibou Touray, Kyle Wootton and Ollie Norwood.

  18. Bromley unchanged; Swindon make six changespublished at 12:25 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2024

    Bromley v Swindon (12:30 GMT)

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Bromley boss Andy Woodman names an unchanged side from the team that put Newport County to the sword 5-2 on Boxing Day.

Thursday's goalscoring defensive duo Omar Sowunmi and Callum Reynolds partner each other at the heart of the Ravens' defence whilst Michael Cheek continues to lead the line.

Swindon boss Ian Holloway has decided to shuffle the pack and makes six changes from the side that drew 1-1 at AFC Wimbledon on Boxing Day.

Out go Grant Hall, George Cox, Ollie Clarke, Joel Cotterill, Kabongo Tschimanga and Harry Smith and in come Billy Kirkman, Rosaire Longelo, Nnamdi Ofoborh, Daniel Butterworth, Aaron Drinan and Paul Glatzel.

  19. Three changes for Carlisle; two for Stanleypublished at 12:23 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2024

Carlisle United v Accrington Stanley (12:30 GMT)

Carlisle boss Mike Williamson has made three changes from the side that lost 1-0 to Morecambe on Boxing Day.

Out go Sam Lavelle, Jack Ellis and Harrison Neal and in come Harrison Biggins, Dan Adu-Adjei and Kadeem Harris.

Accrington Stanley make two changes of their own from the 2-0 home defeat by Salford City eight days ago.

Out go Dara Costelloe and Connor O'Brien and in come Southampton loanee Zach Awe and club captain Seamus Conneely.

  20. A seat at the top is the target in game of musical Chairboyspublished at 12:21 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2024

    Charlton v Wycombe (12:30 GMT)

Wycombe may have been knocked off top spot in the final EFL game before Christmas but they can go back to the summit, for at least a few hours, if they can avoid defeat at mid-table Charlton this lunchtime.

The Addicks are in a throng of 11 clubs separated by only eight points, ranked 6th to 16th in the table, but have won their past two games, though it doesn’t hold a candle to the Chairboys’ current 19-match unbeaten streak dating back to the halcyon days of August.

To say Charlton tend to suffer from a Boxing Day hangover would be an understatement. They have failed to win their final game of a calendar year for a staggering 17 straight years – picking up only eight points in total. Their most recent late-December win actually came in the Premier League, beating Aston Villa 2-1 in 2006.

Despite Wanderers recent form, they don’t have a great record against Charlton of late, losing four of their past six visits, including 3-1 last season, taking four points in total and conceding three goals in half of them.

Feels like a big game, this, a win for either side would surely enhance their credentials in their own particular race, be that play-off or promotion, while a defeat would deflate that particular balloon pretty quickly.
