    Sam Avery
BBC Three Counties Radio's Wycombe commentator

There is bit more atmosphere from the Wycombe fans now that their team has scored.

It was a somewhat shaky start with some chances from Reading, and since going ahead they have sort of gained some control in the game.

  8. Blues have 'caught Barnsley out'published at 15:20 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2024

    Barnsley 0-0 Birmingham

    Darren Carter
Ex-Birmingham midfielder on BBC Radio WM

It seems to be the end Blues are attacking where the wind is holding up the ball, and Barnsley can see that.

However, it has been good from Blues and they have passed it around and then looked to break quickly which has sort of caught Barnsley out a bit.

First corner of the day provides the chance for the away side to take the lead in this one.

Joel Colwill plays a dangerous ball toward the back post and Jay McGrath has to turn it behind for a corner.

Just after the corner is cleared, Thomas races down the left before crossing dangerously, Owen Bailey cannot leave it, diverting the ball into his own net.

Wanderers are ahead, perhaps against the run of play..

Ding dong, Beryly on high, as they like to say at Adams Park. That's seven for the season for Beryly Lubala, he's broken the deadlock, sliding home the recalled Jack Grimmer's low cross from the right.

On track for a seventh straight home win, are the Chairboys.

A couple of sights of goal for the Royals, first Lewis Wing pings a trademark 25-yarder in, only for his strike to deflect wide, while Chem Campbell's effort from closer range after a scramble in the box was also deflected over the Chairboys bar.

    Barnsley 0-0 Birmingham

Former Blues man Marc Roberts is a danger for Barnsley with his long throws on a day like today, but the visitors manage to clear one, giving Jay Stansfield green space ahead of him.

The Blues talisman drives forward but is thwarted by a fine recovery challenge from Georgie Gent before he was able to pull the trigger.

  16. Postpublished at 15:13 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2024

First goal of the afternoon in the fourth tier and it goes to Bromley's Michael Cheek with his 10th of the season at Accrington.

Shortly followed by a sixth of the season for Harry Smith of Swindon giving Ian Holloway's side the lead at home to Fleetwood.

  19. 'Wind is definitely a factor'published at 15:09 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2024

    Wycombe 0-0 Reading

    Dan George
    BBC Sport at Adams Park

Just how strong the wind is can already be seen.

Wycombe keeper Franco Ravizzoli launched a goal-kick downfield and it bounced just in front of Royals stopper Joel Pereira off the slick surface, then looping up into the air carried by the wind.

Pereira looked calm and it went wide of the net but the wind is definitely a factor to be aware of today.

The Reading fans to my left are already making their feelings known about owner Dai Yongge and the EFL.

Wycombe's loudest support is coming from the terrace behind the goal to my right.

  20. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 15:08 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December 2024

A blow for Birmingham and a reshuffle as Alex Cochrane is stretchered off after contesting a ball with Adam Phillips.
