On that note, I think we've peaked.

I don't think it's going to get much better than being described as *nearly* as good as watching your team win the Premier League title.

I'm putting that on my CV.

Thanks Jed and thank you everyone for getting involved throughout today - especially for all your images. I promise I've viewed and virtually love hearted every single one even if we haven't been able to publish them all.

    Warra top day!

  4. Chiesa needs one more game to receive the winner's medalpublished at 15:51 British Summer Time 28 April

Liverpool winger Federico Chiesa is one game short off being eligible for the Premier League's winner's medal. The winger has played four games so far and a player needs to have played five matches over the course of the season to receive the medal.

Chiesa has had his share of injuries in his debut season with the Reds, however, even a substitute appearance will suffice for the Italian winger.

Meanwhile, third-choice goalkeeper Vitezslav Jaros needs to participate in four more games to be eligible for the Premier League's winner's medal. Liverpool have four more games left this season.

  6. Is Darwin's time up?published at 15:41 British Summer Time 28 April

Big things were expected when Liverpool paid £85m to sign Darwin Nunez from Benfica in the summer of 2022.

He got off to a strong start, scoring on his debut in the Community Shield while opposition debutant Erling Haaland drew a blank for Manchester City. But since then things haven't gone according to plan.

The Uruguay striker has scored just 40 goals in 139 games for the club, and has often left fans frustrated with his erratic finishing.

The 25-year-old has started just once in the Premier League since the turn of the year, and on two occassions Arne Slot has publicly criticised his attitude.

Nunez was reportedly close to joining Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr in January, with several Saudi clubs said to remain interested. Atletico Madrid have been linked in recent weeks.

Either way, it seems unlikely that Nunez will be playing at Anfield next season.

These things are magical moments you will absolutely never forget, regardless of what happens afterwards, but it’s also a moment where you stand there and you look at the Kop.

[Next season] Not all the players will get the minutes they like. There’s a point where players also decide to move on and make a change.

Trent Alexander-Arnold scored that beautiful goal last week that took them a step closer to winning the league yesterday so we’ll have to see over the summer what will happen.

I think Trent has got it all so why would you leave? Then again you never know what’s in a player’s mind or what are the other options. He’s a magnificent player and he could do a worldie job at Liverpool.

  10. Will Alexander-Arnold stay or go?published at 15:30 British Summer Time 28 April

    Alex Brotherton
    BBC Sport journalist

One of the main talking points of Liverpool's season remains unresolved: Is Trent Alexander-Arnold going to stay or leave?

Last month BBC Sport reported that Real Madrid were finalising a deal to sign the defender on a free transfer when his Liverpool contract expires this summer.

Yet the way he passionately celebrated his goal in a 1-0 defeat of Leicester earlier this month - to put his side on the brink of winning the Premier League title - sparked rumours that he could in fact sign a new contract at Anfield.

Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk - Liverpool's other two stars who were due to be out of contract this summer - signed new deals earlier this month.

Whether Alexander-Arnold decides to join them or seek a new challenge at the Bernabeu remains to be seen.

    Liverpool

Liverpool only signed one outfield player last summer, though Federico Chiesa played only a peripheral role after completing a £10m move from Juventus.

Arne Slot's squad will likely be reinforced this summer.

Giorgi Mamardashvili will provide competition for Alisson Becker, after Liverpool signed the Georgian goalkeeper last summer before loaning him back to Valencia.

Bournemouth's Hungary left-back Milos Kerkez is strongly rumoured to come in as a long-term successor to Andy Robertson, now 31, while Cherries centre-back Dean Huijsen has also been linked.

Darwin Nunez is expected to leave the club this summer having failed to live up to expectations since his £85m move from Benfica in 2022.

Brentford's Bryan Mbuemo and Newcastle striker Alexander Isak have been touted as potential additions to the attacking department.

A texter earlier sent a message in stating that Liverpool's biggest challenge starts now - retaining the Premier League title. And they probably aren't far wrong.

Manchester City have made it look routine in recent years but prior to their dominance, the previous team to retain the title was Manchester United way back in the 2008-09 season.

City have also shown that they rarely sit still in the transfer window because in doing so allows those around you to catch up.

So what lies ahead this summer for the Reds?

  15. Man City 0-2 Liverpoolpublished at 15:09 British Summer Time 28 April

Five key wins in Liverpool's title charge

If the title race had been a boxing match then the referee may well have stopped the fight long before Liverpool finally served the knockout blow with Sunday's 5-1 win at home to Tottenham.

The Reds gained the advantage with a series of punishing body blows that sucked the air out of Arsenal's attempts to counter-punch their way out of trouble.

Perhaps Liverpool's telling blow came at the Etihad in late February, when Arne Slot's side bounced back from their cup defeats to complete the double over the defending champions via first-half goals from Mohamed Salah and Dominik Szoboszlai and a determined defensive display after the break.

Opta analysis: It was the first time Liverpool had done the league double over City since Jurgen Klopp’s first season in 2015-16 and sent Liverpool 11 points clear of Arsenal at the top of the Premier League.

Five key wins in Liverpool's title charge

Liverpool maintained their place at the top of the table into the new year, but if things had turned out differently at Brentford in mid-January Arsenal could have cut the gap to just two points.

The Bees' goal had led a charmed life but Thomas Frank's side had held out and Liverpool looked destined to slump to a third consecutive draw.

That was before Darwin Nunez came off the bench to score twice in stoppage time to seal a deserved win.

When Arsenal let a two-goal lead slip to draw at home to Aston Villa later that evening, suddenly the looming danger had been averted.

Opta analysis: Liverpool had 37 shots in total at Brentford, the most any team has managed in a Premier League game this season. Nunez’s two goals came from their 36th and 37th shots.

  18. Tottenham 3-6 Liverpoolpublished at 14:54 British Summer Time 28 April

Five key wins in Liverpool's title charge

Liverpool’s attack clicked into top gear at Tottenham just before Christmas.

They finished the match with an xG of 5.63 - the most of any team in a Premier League match this season.

Mohamed Salah had, by this point, stepped into the spotlight with a stunning run of form that helped Arne Slot's side hammer home their advantage over title rivals.

His two goals at the start of the second half against Spurs powered the Reds into a 5-1 lead and ensured they would be top on Christmas Day.

Opta analysis: It was the seventh league game Salah had both scored and assisted in this season, the joint-most by a player in a single Premier League campaign...and it was only the 16th game of the season.

That didn't quite work out Harry.

The intensity of their title challenge did ultimately have an impact on their progress in the cup competitions.

In February and March, Arne Slot's side were dumped out of the FA Cup at Plymouth and the Champions League by Paris St-Germain, before Newcastle outplayed them in the final of the EFL Cup.

That followed a tough little run in the Premier League in January...
