Arne Slot and Jurgen Klopp have developed something of a bromance ever since the former replaced the latter in the Anfield dugout.

Liverpool fans would surely love to see their former and current managers celebrating together when Liverpool get their hands on the trophy next month. Could it happen?

"Yes, the plan is [to be in Liverpool] but not on the bus," Klopp said at a fundraising event in Cape Town last month, as reported by ESPN, external.

"I will be there with the people I saw on the bus [when Liverpool had their last trophy parade]. That's the idea to be honest, but we will see.

"I think I will be there for the last game. I didn't want to go earlier to be honest because I didn't want to jinx it all the time. If I'm in the stadium for the first time and they lose. So I will go there when it's decided."

In replacing one of Liverpool's greatest managers, Arne Slot appeared to have an incredibly tough brief.

In his early interviews as Liverpool boss, the Dutchman said that both Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola had influenced his ideas about football.

So instead of ripping everything up and starting again, Slot tinkered with what Klopp had built and made them Premier League champions.

    So what did he change?

Good afternoon, I hope you’re well 😊 I just wanted to send in a picture and video from yesterday with me and my mum celebrating seeing Liverpool win the league. My mum has always been the best role model I could have asked for and I will forever be grateful that. I will also be forever grateful for making sure I was a Red haha

While this Liverpool side are not the highest scoring team in Premier League history, they are on course to break another record.

Liverpool have scored two or more goals in 29 league games this season, one game short of the record set by Manchester City in 2017-18 and equalled by Liverpool in 2021-22.

Arne Slot's side have four more games to beat the record.

  15. 'Liverpool fans rose to the occasion'published at 12:15 British Summer Time 28 April

    Liverpool 5 -1 Tottenham Hotspur

    John Aldridge
Former Liverpool striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

Former Liverpool striker John Aldridge praised Liverpool's title win at Anfield and the atmosphere generated by the fans in the stadium:

"I didn't think we were capable of upending Manchester City the way they've been. But the way the manager has done it and the manner we did it, it's been exceptional.

"I went to my first game in mid 60s watching Roger Hunt and co. and I've been lucky to support this club but the way yesterday was planned and the way it went, it ticked every single box. Having to come from 1-0 down was the right way to do it.

"Liverpool fans rose to the occasion and it was spine-tingling the rendition of You'll Never Walk Alone and the way it was portrayed and the way the team stood in front of The Kop. I've sung that millions of times but that was one of the best I've ever seen.

"It wasn't just The Kop, it was every single part of the ground."

The 2024-25 Premier League is the third major trophy Slot has won during his managerial career.

His first was the Eredivisie title he guided Feyenoord to in 2022-23. Last season his side won the KNVB Cup.

He was on the losing side as Feyenoord were defeated in the 2021-22 Uefa Conference League final, and oversaw Liverpool's 2-1 defeat to Newcastle in the League Cup final last month.

That recap of our best pictures is leading me on nicely as we head into this afternoon because the tug of war about the Premier League being rubbish or not is giving me a headache.

What I need in my life is more pictures of celebrations. Not arguments. Pure good vibes.

Celebratory pics of you and the family. Pics of your dogs/cats/fish in Liverpool gear celebrating yesterday's win.

So, while we continue to delve through the reaction and analysis to the Reds winning the title - send me your best images from yesterday/today.

Newcastle fans were good at this after the EFL Cup victory, so you've got a lot to live up to, Liverpool fans!

I’m a Liverpool fan, and proud of it, but I have also been congratulatory of any of the teams that have won titles over the years. It feels like sour grapes when you hear all the “they only won because” excuses from other fans. I’m not sure what we have to do to get acknowledged by some. Still, if we win next year too, there’s a whole year to come up with some new excuses .

    Neil

To all those sour grape comments, “league isn’t as strong”, “Man City are weaker”, blah, blah, blah, blah. Liverpool fans have woken up today with their team as Premier League champions. There are plenty of you who would swap places with us! Brilliant achievement by a new manager and following a massive character like Jurgen. Party time in Liverpool!

    Mark, Liverpool

Those trying their very best to demean Liverpool's title victory, a little embarrassing isn't it? The target is to be the best team in a given season and not only have Liverpool done that, but they've done so by a country mile. This team will only get better too!

At 46 years old, Slot is the third-youngest manager to lead a side to the Premier League title, after Jose Mourinho (twice younger with Chelsea in 2004-05 and 2005-06) and Kenny Dalglish (with Blackburn 1994-95).
