Luton have lost six of their last seven league games against Brentford, with their last home meeting ending in a 3-0 defeat in October 2020 in the Championship.
Brentford have won four of their last eight away league games against Luton (L4), having won just three of their first 27 visits in the Football League beforehand (D5 L19).
Brentford have lost both of their Premier League away games against promoted sides this season, going down 1-0 at Sheffield United and 2-1 at Burnley. The Bees haven’t lost three away games against promoted teams in a season since the 1988-89 third tier campaign, when they lost to Cardiff, Wolves and Bolton.
Luton have won just one of their last 12 Premier League games (D3 L8), though it was in their last home game against Bournemouth (2-1). The Hatters are yet to win back-to-back home league games this season.
Brentford are unbeaten in their last four Premier League games (W1 D3), having lost 14 of their 18 games previously (W3 D1). The Bees are looking to win consecutive league games for the first time since November.
Only Sheffield United (6) have conceded more own goals in the Premier League this season than Luton (4), with the Hatters’ putting through their own net in three of their last four matches. Brentford are the only side yet to concede an own goal in the competition so far this term
Since drawing 2-2 with Tottenham at half-time in their opening Premier League game this season, Brentford haven’t scored more than once in the first half in any of their last 32 league games. Indeed, they’ve not scored in the opening 45 minutes in any of their last five, with 10 of their last 11 goals coming after the interval.
Luton have scored a league-high 39% of their Premier League goals in the final 15 minutes of games this season (18/46). The goals scored in this time have ultimately been worth seven extra points to the Hatters (11 points gained with goals scored, 4 points lost with goals conceded).
Ross Barkley has scored five Premier League goals for Luton this season, only netting more in 2015-16 (8) and 2013-14 (6). He also has four assists this term, and could register double figures for goal involvements for the third time in the competition along with 2016-17 (13) and 2015-16 (16).
Vitaly Janelt is the only player to have played in every Premier League game for Brentford this season. Should he play in this game, he would be the first player to make 100 Premier League appearances for the Bees.
