If Tzolis had converted that clear chance at 1-1, this game would have probably gone in a different direction. Villa have had the luck tonight.

Phenomenal. What a great night for the Villa fans.

Marco Asensio slips a little bit when he takes it, his right foot gives way but only after he hits the ball. Simon Mignolet is really unlucky but there was power and accuracy to take it in.

Just a few minutes ago Villa were looking happy with a draw but now they are taking a really strong advantage back to Villa Park.

To be honest there is no argument. Christos Tzolis didn't mean it but he does catch Matty Cash. A bizarre winger's challenge.

You feel sorry for Club Brugge. They looked like they were going to go for it with the attacking changes that they were preparing and they just didn't get the chance to.

Amazing OG by Brugge. Unstoppable finish. Reminds me of Iain Dowie's screamer. Amazing stuff

    Club Brugge 1-2 Aston Villa

It really did come out of nowhere. Villa really have not created much at all. The ball comes down the left and the cross into the box is horrible for defenders to deal with.

Had Brandon Mechele not touched it then it was a tap in for Aston Villa. He didn't quite get his footing right and the ball goes beyond Simon Mignolet.

    Priceless for Aston Villa!

Club Brugge had been looking the most likely to score again but the visitors snatch the lead with seven minutes to go, Morgan Rogers playing a really dangerous cross that Brandon Mechele diverts into his own net.
