    Morecambe 1-0 Notts County

A draw would be enough to lift Morecambe off the bottom of the EFL and they still lead through Lee Angol.

But this is a very open game.

  2. Postpublished at 15:15 British Summer Time 28 September

    Blackpool 0-0 Burton

Blackpool have won three in a row and probably fancy making it four out of four this afternoon.

Midfielder Albie Morgan has a crack from distance, but he's off target.

  3. Postpublished at 15:13 British Summer Time 28 September

    Gillingham 0-0 Barrow

Barrow have the first serious chance of this game between the early pacesetters but Theo Vassell can only toe an effort straight at Glenn Morris in the Gillingham goal.

  4. Postpublished at 15:10 British Summer Time 28 September

    Birmingham 0-1 Peterborough

It is almost 40 years since Birmingham won six in the row which is what they are aiming for today.

Blues are going to have to do it the hard way in this way to keep that run going.

  5. Postpublished at 15:10 British Summer Time 28 September

    Birmingham 0-1 Peterborough

    Kerys Harrop
Ex-Birmingham City women defender on BBC Radio WM

A really disappointing start and it's come from kick-off.

Peacock-Farrell needs to launch that long and Jones has gone in and got a touch.

  6. goal

GOAL: Bromley 0-1 MK Donspublished at 15:08 British Summer Time 28 September

    Joe Tomlinson (8 mins)

What a start to the Scott Lindsey reign in charge of MK.

Tommy Leigh holds-up the ball in the Bromley area and Joe Tomlinson arrives to slot home.

  7. Postpublished at 15:07 British Summer Time 28 September

    Gillingham 0-0 Barrow

This would have been a battle between the top two but for Walsall's storming win over Colchester at lunchtime.

Only a draw would see the Saddlers stay top.

  8. goal

GOAL: Birmingham 0-1 Peterboroughpublished at 15:06 British Summer Time 28 September

    Ricky-Jade Jones (4 mins)

    Who saw this one coming?!

A self-inflicted wound for Birmingham and their goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell. He takes a long time, an awfully long time to deal with the ball and in that time, Ricky-Jade Jones closes him down and the ball flies into the net.

Posh lead against the unbeaten Blues.

  9. goal

GOAL: Morecambe 1-0 Notts Countypublished at 15:04 British Summer Time 28 September

    Lee Angol (2 mins)

Is this the day for Morecambe to get their first win of the season?

Well they've made the best possible start as Lee Angol puts them ahead.

Adam Lewis puts the ball into the Notts County area and Angol scrambles it over the line.

  10. Stand up for the Grecianspublished at 15:03 British Summer Time 28 September

    Wigan 0-0 Exeter

Around 400 Exeter fans have come up north for this fixture.

It's a journey of no less than 243 miles up the M5 and the M6.

Those Grecians supporters - we salute you!

  11. Blues' heavyweight presencepublished at 15:01 British Summer Time 28 September

    Birmingham 0-0 Peterborough

There is barely a seat to be had at St Andrews @Knighthead Park, as a crowd of around 29,000 gathers and 'Keep Right On' reverberates around this famous ground.

Krystian Bielik is back to captain the side.

This team and setting really adds a lot of clout to League One football.

At Birmingham's last home game against Wrexham, NFL legend Tom Brady was sat alongside David Beckham in the posh seats at St Andrews at Knighthead Park.

Now Brady will have met plenty of famous faces in his illustrious career, but today if he's in town, he could come face to face with one of English football's most ebullient characters - Barry Fry!

Bazza, now 79, is the longstanding director of football for today's visitors Peterborough and the master of plucking gems from non-league football.

This is Blues' first season in the third tier for 30 years. That season, Fry led them to a title and Auto Windscreens Shield double.

The way they have started this season under Chris Davies, you would not bet against a repeat.

  14. Brucie bounce lights up Blackpoolpublished at 14:54 British Summer Time 28 September

    Blackpool v Burton (15:00 BST)

Blackpool manager Steve Bruce at Bloomfield RoadImage source, Rex Features

The honeymoon period for Steve Bruce as Blackpool manager has been a lovely one. Three league games, three wins and the team moving from 22nd to ninth in League One.

It is Bruce's first spell in the third tier since a brief period at Wigan in 2001 and he is using all his vast experience to get the Seasiders lighting it up on the field.

His opposite number today, Burton's Mark Robinson, would love any kind of victory.

There have been four draws in their six league games but the Brewers and their much-changed squad could do with that first win to get the season up and running.

Who knows? Three points at Bloomfield Road and the Burton team bus might take in the Illuminations on the journey home!

Shaun Maloney and Gary Caldwell during their time working at HibernianImage source, Rex Features

Gary Caldwell and Shaun Maloney go back a long way.

Team-mates at Celtic. FA Cup winners at Wigan Athletic. Manager and assistant with Hibernian in the SPFL.

Now they occupy the hotseats at Wigan and Exeter respectively in League One, separated by one point and two places in mid-table.

Maloney's Wigan are struggling for goals and Caldwell's Exeter in search of consistency as the pair meet for the fourth time.

Last season, it was a win apiece in the league and one in the FA Cup for Maloney, so who will be smiling come five o'clock today?

  16. Pacesetters meet in League Twopublished at 14:50 British Summer Time 28 September

    Gillingham v Barrow (15:00 BST)

Gillingham's Priestfield StadiumImage source, Rex Features

Last week the top two met at Meadow Lane but Gillingham's 1-0 win at Notts County wasn't enough to take them top as Barrow leapfrogged both teams with their victory over Newport and head the table by virtue of goals scored.

Gillingham have won all three league games at home, conceding just once along the way while Barrow have won their past two on the road but this game in Kent comes at the end of a week where they have already travelled to Stamford Bridge where they were heavily beaten by Chelsea in the EFL Cup.

They are second and third after that win for Walsall, but the winners of this will be top at 5pm.

  17. New boys v the new boypublished at 14:46 British Summer Time 28 September

Bromley v MK Dons (15:00 BST)

MK Dons manager Scott LindseyImage source, PA Media

The honeymoon might be over for the Bromley boys. Having started life in the EFL with two wins, they have managed just one point from their subsequent five games and they come up against an MK Dons side keen to impress a new manager.

Scott Lindsey engineered Crawley's play-off semi-final win over MK last season but has dropped back down to League Two to see if he can repeat the promotion trick twice.

He has taken over a side who have lost all three away games so far without even scoring a single goal.

  18. Morecambe hope to avoid being tied in Nottspublished at 14:43 British Summer Time 28 September

Morecambe v Notts County (15:00 BST)

Morecambe manager Derek AdamsImage source, Rex Features

Whichever way you slice them, the stats make difficult reading for Morecambe fans.

Derek Adams' side are winless this season and in total are 12 games without a victory which, alongside Cambridge United, is the longest run across England's top four tiers.

The Shrimps are also winless in the last six against Notts County with the last meeting back in December ending in a 5-0 hammering BUT the two points Morecambe have managed this season have seen them fight back from two-goal deficits on both occasions.

Notts County were gliding along seamlessly before last weekend's loss at home to Gillingham with four wins from five matches

They are unbeaten on their travels with wins at Bromley and Swindon respectively.
