    Motherwell 2-0 St Johnstone

Excellent work by St Johnstone's Graham Carey as he jinks in from the right and drives a low shot towards goal, but Aston Oxborough makes a decent save at his near post.

  3. Postpublished at 15:44 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

    Hibernian 0-2 St Mirren

Greg Kiltie knocks down a cushioned header for Killian Philipps but his strike from the centre of the box is deflected wide.

Nothing doing from the resulting corner, but St Mirren seem to be able to cut through Hibs with every attack.

So far this isn't a happy return to Fir Park for St Johnstone manager Simo Valakari. His team might be playing some good stuff when they get the ball, but Motherwell have a healthy cushion and their tails up...

  6. Postpublished at 15:42 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

    Dundee United 0-0 Ross County

We're getting closer and closer to a goal. This time it's United threatening as Sam Dalby's header is deflected just over the bar and onto the roof of the net.

It must have been offside, because it's not a corner.

  7. Postpublished at 15:41 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

    Motherwell 2-0 St Johnstone

Motherwell just keep getting down the sides of St Johnstone, particularly down their left flank.

Tom Sparrow is freed down the wing and his low cross across the face of goal is met by Apostolos Stamatelopoulos, but he can't steer the ball on target on the stretch.

  8. Postpublished at 15:41 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

    Hibernian 0-2 St Mirren

Oh dear... Hibs' first half summed up in one pass.

Marvin Ekpiteta strolls out from the back and attempts to find the unmarked Chris Cadden, who is standing just 10 yards to his right.

The ball flies straight out of play, about the same distance ahead of Cadden.

No points for guessing how the fans reacted to that one.

  9. Tight affair with little sign of a breakthroughpublished at 15:40 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

    Dundee United 0-0 Ross County

    Martin Dowden
    BBC Sport Scotland at Tannadice

United are edging it but it's very competitive all over the pitch with chances not quite flowing.

County have been disciplined defensively of late and are showing that, defending their box well as the home side try and create gaps to exploit.

At this stage, 0-0 is fair.

  11. CLOSE!published at 15:35 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

    Dundee United 0-0 Ross County

County go close to an opener!

The ball is worked to Eli Campbell on the edge of the box, he takes a touch and tries to slice it into the top corner, but it's just high and wide.

  12. goal

GOAL Motherwell 2-0 St Johnstonepublished at 15:35 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

    Tom Sparrow

Motherwell are on fire when they break forward.

It's shifted to Tom Sparrow on the edge of the box, he takes it into the area and unleashes a low shot across the goalkeeper and into the far corner.

    It's a wonderfully clean hit.

Saints, for all their positive attacking play, are being torn apart when they lose the ball.

  13. goal

GOAL Hibernian 0-2 St Mirrenpublished at 15:34 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

    Conor McMenamin

    Comedy defending, even worse goalkeeping!

Warren O'Hora tries to pick a ball out of the air but his poor first touch allows McMenamin to burst in and nick it off his toes, just inside the Hibs half.

In one-on-one and eyeing his second of the afternoon the St Mirren forward goes for the front post and the keeper seems to just fall in the opposite direction.

    Boos ring round Easter Road.

Signs of life from the hosts.

Elie Youan twists and turns, plays a one-two with Kpwn Hyeok-Kyu, then rolls his man before smashing a shot against the post.

    Motherwell 1-0 St Johnstone

Matt Smith with a lovely strike on the volley which Aston Oxborough spills, but the Motherwell keeper gets away with that error as Adama Sidibeh can't connect as he slides in.

St Johnstone need to make some of their good play pay off. Having said that, they're very vulnerable to Motherwell's counter-attacks.

  17. Postpublished at 15:28 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

    Hibernian 0-1 St Mirren

With Hibs chasing a way back, St Mirren can sit deep and try to pick them off. Toyosi Olusanya is looking like a handful for the home central defenders, with his power and pace.

  18. Postpublished at 15:25 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

    Hibernian 0-1 St Mirren

For weeks now the stats and records have been damning for Hibs.

They have failed to win any of their last 23 matches when conceding first in the Scottish Premiership.

A victory over Celtic on 24 May 2023 was the last time they fought back after going a goal down.

  19. goal

GOAL Motherwell 1-0 St Johnstonepublished at 15:22 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

    Tawanda Maswanhise

St Johnstone have been playing well, but they have had a few warnings from Motherwell on the break.

This time, they're punished. Marvin Kaleta gets down the right-hand side and swings the ball to the back post, and Maswanhise, despite his diminutive frame, nods into the net.

  20. Postpublished at 15:20 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

    Dundee United 0-0 Ross County

Another half-chance for United as Will Ferry whips a brilliant cross towards the back post, but there's no one there to bury it.

Vicko Sevelj tries his luck from distance moments later and forces a good save from Ross Laidlaw.
