GOAL Hibernian 0-1 St Mirrenpublished at 15:19 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

    Conor McMenamin

Stephen Robinson made one change to his starting line-up and it has paid off already.

Mark O'Hara swings a ball out from the middle of the Hibs half to the unmarked Scott Tanser and the full-back drives towards the byeline.

He flashes a smart cross at the front post, allowing Conor McMenamin to dart in and side-foot it back across goal.

A smart finish. Hibs not looking too clever at the back.

  2. Postpublished at 15:18 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

    Hibernian 0-0 St Mirren

Richard Taylor dives in for a loose ball after a poor first touch has him scrambling to retain possession in the middle of the park.

His studs appear to be up as he challenges the onrushing Kwon Hyeok-kyu for the ball, but it's not even given as a foul.

The Hibs midfielder takes a wee while to walk it off and is fine to continue.

  3. Postpublished at 15:16 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

    Hibernian 0-0 St Mirren

Elie Youan bundles past his marker and lays the ball off out wide for Junior Hoilett.

The Hibs winger flashes a cross in that Martin Boyle attacks but keeper Ellery Balcombe flies out to punch it clear at his near post.

Bit of a fractured and untidy start to this one.

  4. Postpublished at 15:15 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

    Dundee United 0-0 Ross County

United are almost in for the opener after poor positioning from Ross Laidlaw.

Sam Dalby beats the goalkeeper to the ball and almost finds Jort van der Sande with a cutback, but Connor Randall slides in for an important block.

  5. Postpublished at 15:12 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

    Dundee United 0-0 Ross County

County win a corner and unsurprisingly, it's aimed at Jordan White. The big striker scored a hat-trick here last year after all.

And he nods over the bar...

  6. Postpublished at 15:11 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

    Motherwell 0-0 St Johnstone

St Johnstone go close. Graham Carey swings in a teasing delivery from the right and Kyle Cameron, Nicky Clark and Adama Sidibeh make a run, but none can get to the ball as it slips just past the far post.

Motherwell goalkeeper Aston Oxborough was stranded.

  8. Postpublished at 15:06 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

    Dundee United 0-0 Ross County

County loft the ball towards the back post, it's knocked down to Aidan Denholm but his shot from six yards is blocked.

United respond well, getting the ball to Sam Dalby in the box - but his touch takes the ball away from the on-rushing Jort van der Sande. If he'd left it, the big man could have been in.

There is a tense atmosphere as Hibernian and David Gray look to somehow find a way out of this mess they are in at the bottom of the table.

With only one league win this campaign the form has simply not been good enough.

Stephen Robinson remains positive about the prospects for St Mirren this season and already has a 3-0 win this season over their opponents this afternoon. Score early and they can pile even more pressure on the home team and the manager.

  12. Can Steelmen bounce back from Hampden pain?published at 15:00 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

    Motherwell v St Johnstone (15:00)

    Jane Lewis

Motherwell are looking to bounce back after their League Cup semi-final loss, while the Perth side have lost their last two games and are keen to get back to winning ways in order not to lose that spark that came in with the arrival of the new manager, who is back on old ground.

  13. United look to build on solid startpublished at 14:58 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

Dundee United v Ross County (15:00)

    Martin Dowden
    BBC Sport Scotland at Tannadice

A new deal for Jim Goodwin marks, what Dundee United hope, is the start of a new dawn back as a force in the Premiership and they've started this campaign very solidly indeed.

This fixture gives them chance to take a grip of fourth heading into the international break and that would be an excellent return at this stage.

County seek a long awaited away win but are also performing well. Victory hauls them to within one point of their opponents and they seem to have improved since last campaign.

  14. Goodwin pleased to provide United 'stability'published at 14:54 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

Dundee United v Ross County (15:00)

Dundee United manager Jim Goodwin tells BBC Scotland: "I'm really pleased to get my future sorted and grateful the club see me as the person to take the club forward. It brings stability as well - in the last nine seasons, United have had about 10 managers.

"It's still early days in my tenure but we've got a lot of work to do in a lot of different areas. I've enjoyed being at the club, we've had a good start to the season and it's nice to be rewarded for that.

"The expectation in-house was to stay in the league and avoid the relegation dogfight. Our points return so far has been very good, and we're a very new team. It takes time and I'm pleasantly surprised at how quickly the new players have settled in."

  15. Robinson 'looking forward' to McMenamin's returnpublished at 14:52 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

    Hibernian v St Mirren (15:00)

St Mirren manager Stephen Robinson tells BBC Scotland: "I think the last three games we've been good, we got two decent results, not conceded a lot of goals, so a lot of the performances were good.

"We haven't been able to do that most of the season in terms of sticking to a system and personnel.

"So, Conor McMenamin’s been knocking on the door.

"He gives us the same type of front three that we had last season, with a little bit of creativity and a press. So, we're looking forward to seeing that."

  16. Kettlewell expects tight contestpublished at 14:50 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

    Motherwell v St Johnstone (15:00)

Motherwell manager Stuart Kettlewell: "I expect to see the version of the team that has us joint fourth in the league, got us five wins.

"Simo has changed the approach and style of play at St Johnstone. It's given us something different to think about. It doesn't necessarily mean better or worse it just means we have to approach games slightly different.

"They'll probably give us one or two issues we haven't seen before, but it also might take away some of the things that were their strength in the past."

  17. Valakari says 'time for new memories'published at 14:48 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

    Motherwell v St Johnstone (15:00)

St Johnstone manager Simon Valakari reflects on his return to Fir Park, where he made his name as a player.

"I have great memories that will stay in my heart for the rest of my life," he told Sportsound.

"But now it's the time for new memories. Motherwell have been a good example of what you can do when you get off the field things stable and building an identity.

"We know it will be a tough game. They work hard for each other, they have pace, and players who can play with the ball. So for us we need to play a good game to get something from it."

On leaving top scorer Benjamin Kimpioka out, Valakari says: "It's very important we have players who can come from the bench. It's just a tactical choice to go with Adama and Nicky as our two strikers and Matt Smith in midfield."

  18. Gray unfazed by poor St Mirren recordpublished at 14:46 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

    Hibernian v St Mirren (15:00)

Hibernian head coach David Gray knows his side's form against St Mirren doesn't make for good reading - with only one win in five - but he wants to change that record today.

"You can take stats any way you want," he tells BBC Scotland.

"The reality [of the] situation is we need points, we need them quickly and today we've got an opportunity to try and change that.

"I think what's happened previously, you talk about the last few games against St Mirren, that's history, we need to try and change our fortunes going forward."

  19. Cowie determined to end poor away runpublished at 14:43 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

Dundee United v Ross County (15:00)

Ross County manager Don Cowie tells BBC Scotland: "We're in a very competitive league. We've done okay, we want to do better. A couple of games have gone against us, but we're competitive.

[On winless away record] "It's a record we want to break, but we have to give ourselves the best possible opportunity to do that. We did that last week against St Mirren, we looked like we could win the game.

"United are playing with two strikers today, they've showed their intent. We need to be ready for that."
