  1. 'They're not Barcelona'published at 14:38 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

    Falkirk v Airdrieonians (15:00)

Airdrie skipper Adam Frizzell says today's opponents "aren't Barcelona".

It's just that the Championship leaders have stats like their Catalan counterparts. No one else in the division has a positive double digit goal difference. It's over a year and a half since they lost a home league match. They've only suffered one league defeat all season and have a six point lead at the top of the table.

Not bad for a newly promoted side. Falkirk are unchanged from the side who hit Morton for six last week. They're not Barcelona. They're just playing like them at the moment.

  2. 'Rinse and repeat' from Hibspublished at 14:35 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

    Hibernian v St Mirren (15:00)

Sportsound pundit Michael Stewart has sympathy for Hibs manager David Gray.

"As much as the manager has to take responsibility, it's those above and the poor squad that has been put together," he said on air. "There's a very soft centre to that side."

  3. St Mirren find shooting boots against Hibspublished at 14:31 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

    Hibernian v St Mirren (15:00)

Hibs may be in need of goals but it is St Mirren who have been high-scoring in this fixture of late.

The Buddies hit 10 in the four games in all competitions last season and opened this Premiership campaign with a 3-0 victory in Paisley.

St Mirren are unbeaten in four league matches against the struggling Edinburgh side, winning three of those.

  4. Can Hibs find goals to ease late pressure?published at 14:29 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

    Hibernian v St Mirren (15:00)

Another week, another 'must-win' for Hibs.

The Edinburgh side have mustered just one victory from their 11 games and the concession of late goals has become something of a recurring nightmare.

"We need to be scoring more," said captain Joe Newell yesterday. "We need to be more clinical going forwards to ease that late pressure if it does come.

"We're working on everything at the minute, the hard work has been continuous and we've still got a lot of faith."

  5. Postpublished at 14:27 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

Dundee United v Ross County (15:00)

Ross County have drawn eight of their last 14 league games, with their last two outings ending goalless.

Hibs were the last side to play out three straight 0-0 draws in the top flight between February to March 2022.

  6. New deal for Goodwin after 'meeting all targets'published at 14:25 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

Dundee United v Ross County (15:00)

Tannadice gaffer Jim Goodwin signed a new deal yesterday, extending his contract to the summer of 2026.

The smooth talking silver fox took United straight back up as Championship winners and they have started this season in promising fashion, despite a run of injuries in recent weeks.

"Jim has excelled since his arrival, meeting all targets set by the board of directors so far," said chairman Mark Ogren.

  7. Postpublished at 14:22 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

    Motherwell v St Johnstone (15:00)

After a 2-1 win in August, Motherwell are looking for back-to-back league victories over St Johnstone for the first time since November 2019.

  8. Fir Park evokes 'great memories' for Valakaripublished at 14:20 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

    Motherwell v St Johnstone (15:00)

St Johnstone manager Simo Valakari is returning to Fir Park for the first time in almost a quarter of a century and should get a good reception - before kick-off anyway.

The 51-year-old Finn spent four seasons as a Motherwell player before moving on to Derby in 2000.

"Great memories, they never go," he said of his time in North Lanarkshire on Friday. "I never forget them, but now it's a new chapter."

We'll hear more from him before kick-off.

  9. United change shape; County change threepublished at 14:16 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

Dundee United v Ross County (15:00)

Only one change for United, but there's a change of shape too.

Glenn Middleton is replaced - despite impressive performances since his return to the starting XI - by Bonaire international Jort van der Sande, which makes it two up top.

Don Cowie swaps three from the goalless draw against St Mirren.

Josh Reid, Noah Chilvers and Jack Grieves drop to the bench, with Ryan Leak, Aidan Denholm and Ronan Hale back in from the start for County.

  10. Sparrow in for Well; Saints change goalkeeperpublished at 14:14 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

    Motherwell v St Johnstone (15:00)

Motherwell make just one enforced change to the XI which lost at Hampden against Rangers. Centre-back Liam Gordon serves the second game of his suspension and is replaced my midfielder Tom Sparrow.

That might mean a rare switch to a back four. Shane Blaney misses out altogether for personal reasons but Harry Paton is on the bench for the first time this season after injuring his ankle during the summer.

St Johnstone make two changes from the defeat by Hearts. Josh Rae replaced Ross Sinclair in goals at half-time last weekend and continues between the sticks.

Matt Smith also comes back into midfield as Benjamin Kimpioka - the side's top scorer - drops to the bench.

Mykola Kuharevich is suspended and Lewis Miller drops to the bench, replacing them are right-back Chris Cadden and forward Elie Youan.

For St Mirren, manager Stephen Robinson has made just one change as Conor McMenamin comes in for James Scott in the final third.
