What's wrong with the rest of the country??! It's a glorious day here in the West Midlands.

The surface looks in great condition considering the temperatures this week.

And the sun is shining so brightly that, I kid you not, I'm wishing I'd brought my shades as I need to squint to see a quarter of the pitch!

Almost put BST instead of GMT for the kick-off time, that's how comfy I am...

    League Two bottom

The table won't make for comfortable viewing for Rovers fans, but an unexpected three points at the leaders this lunchtime would give them a timely four-place boost in the standings.

This graphic will already likely be stuck to fridges and turned into phone wallpapers in Walsall, but a healthy position could look even more commanding in the next couple of hours.

This wasn't supposed to be Walsall's game in hand on the other League Two promotion-chasers, but as it stands, it will be...

The Sadlers are soaring, 10 points clear of the rest, with the chance of that being 13 by 14:30 GMT as they host a Tranmere side floundering five points above the drop-zone at the foot of League Two.

Mat Sadler's men are unbeaten in 14 dating back to 1 October, are seeking a club record eighth straight league win, and fifth in a row at home.

Rovers, by contrast, have lost their past five in a row on the road and taken just eight points from their last nine in total - though three of those came courtesy of a vital 1-0 win over Carlisle in their most recent outing last weekend.

They are also one of just three teams to have beaten the Saddlers this season, earning a 1-0 win at Prenton Park back in the balmy days of August.

The covers are off at the Poundland and they are made of hardy stuff in the Black Country so kick-off is moments away...

League One table on 11 January

Bolton will be desperate to seize the opportunity to narrow the gap to Reading in sixth in League One to just a single point with a win today, especially with no other teams in action.

A draw would be enough to take them up to eighth, while Rotherham will climb three places with victory.

  8. Millers and Trotters survive the cullpublished at 12:12 Greenwich Mean Time 11 January

Who had Rotherham on their bingo card as the only League One game to survive the freezing weather?

It's 0°C in South Yorkshire this afternoon but the Millers' clash with Bolton Wanderers at the New York Stadium is set to go ahead.

It's a pretty important one too, as the Trotters have the chance to go seventh and close the gap on the play-off spots to just one point with a win.

Rotherham would move three places from 16th to 13th with victory and are unbeaten in their past three games, albeit two of those were goalless draws, including at Huddersfield last Saturday.

Bolton picked up a decent 2-1 win at Exeter last time out but will need to change history to do so again today on a ground they haven't won at in the league since 1966 (D5 L12).

We'll bring you up to speed with what's off, and what may yet be on, in the next few moments...
