The start is exactly the same as the first half, Man City have come out of the blocks very quickly and this could easily end with City scoring six or seven.

Manchester City are hungry for a fourth. Phil Foden doesn't get much power on his latest shot but his placement is top notch and he has Jose Sa scrambling to tap the ball around the post.

Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "It is a weird sensation. For the players and especially for the fans. Since I arrived, all the things we have produced on the pitch made us think maybe this moment would come before.

"We reacted really well after Sheffield scored. It says a lot about the character. It is not over. We made good step but it is not over.

"We reacted when Sheffield United scored. We conceded but then went and chased the game. It was important that Callum [Hudson-Odoi] scored before half-time and I think we were dominant in the second half and had more chances to score but it was a good performance."

On Ryan Yates' first Premier League goal: "I am really happy for him. He is an important player for us."

On Willy Boly's return to the starting XI: "He was away too much time, unfortunately. Because of all the things he gives to the team. We missed him."

On the relegation battle: "It is very important that we stick with advantages. It is in our hands and we cannot lose that. We decide our own destiny."

City just have an unbelievable strength in depth don't they?

I expect them to make plenty of changes after 60 minutes.

It is a beautiful cross in such a tight area. And Haaland, superb athleticism he shows. He leaps like a big Norwegian salmon. That is unbelievable.

Newcastle United

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "A really good performance, we knew Burnley would be on it, it was a big game for them. It's an intimidating place to come but when we got control of the game and started to settle, I thought we showed our we showed our quality and scored four great goals.

"Tactically we tweaked things around and I was really pleased to see we still gelled together. A really good performance. A lot of pace, a lot of quality but you need it to gel for the performance to be as strong as you want it to be."

On Alexander Isak: "I say it very week. An outstanding talent. Technically gifted, pace, took his goal well today. He'll be disappointed with his penalty but that's just one of those things. Another really good display, I thought him and Callum Wilson looked really well again today, especially in the transitions."

On poor away form: "We've been fighting that, determined to change our away form and be more consistent. Away one against Crystal Palace was poor. Today was a much better performance, a much better feel around the group. We know we've got goals, we have to defend better but it was big step forward today."

On the European places: "We're in there there fighting and scrapping. Nothing will be decided today, it puts us in a better position. We've got three big games coming up."

Brentford

Brentford manager Thomas Frank, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "Today I think there was a bit more bite without being through the roof. I think there was just a lack of quality offensively."

On whether there was a lack of motivation: "There's no lack of effort. Everyone's running around, big energy, both knew it was a local derby. There was plenty to be motivated by.

"The narrative is it's the end of the season and no-one can achieve anything. It just happens sometimes."

On whether the lack of 0-0s this season surprises him: "It surprises me it's only 11 but on the flip side it's a league that's so intense and so much quality in general so small mistakes usually get punished."

On Ivan Toney's recent performances: "There are spells for any striker where they don't score in a period of time and then they'll do it again. Ivan is a top player and he will score again soon. He's been out with injury. I think he was average last week and took a step forward this week. Both games we haven't been fantastic offensively so even when Messi was top it was very rare. The team need to click as well."

On having been at Brentford as manager for so long: "The fire is definitely there. It's a massive privilege to be in the Premier League. I never take that in any way. I think it's an achievement for Brentford. The backing and everything we do, what we create together. We want to do what we can for the last two games of the season then we go again."

Can't believe we're in a position where Erling Haaland has to prove himself as a goalscorer. He definitely has by the way.

Burnley

Burnley manager Vincent Kompany to Sky Sports: "In all fairness, we played against a better team. We did what needed at the start of the game in terms of bringing the energy, putting ourselves in an overachieving position. But when you don't seize the momentum, that can go against you and then after that, fair play to the team to keep fighting to the end. We didn't let the game die down, we were there. They were better.

"The team was up for it, there is no lack of effort, no lack of support from our fans. Everybody wanted to have a go but today we have to congratulate the opponent. We have to live again to hopefully do something special in the next game. Football is crazy like this so it will be a difficult one tonight but we will go again."

On whether they can catch Nottingham Forest: "If Forest didn't have to come here I would say it would be difficult, but because they have to come here on the final day it will be different. We don't control what Forest or Luton do, but we know it's just one game. We win our game, they lose their game, then all of a sudden special things can happen and that's enough for me."

Sheffield United

Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "Press play and repeat. Goals change attitudes of games completely. To have nine opportunities, and not half-opportunities, good opportunities, we could have been two or three up.

"Everyone knows Hudson-Odoi has quality. Scratching my head how it was 1-1 at half-time. We should have been out of sight, without a doubt. We were by far the better team. They have got a lot to play for, we know that. But in terms of how we moved the ball and attacked it was really good. But we have got to put teams to bed. If we don't do that, then we open the door. We opened ourselves to the counter-attack and they punished us."

On Ben Brereton-Diaz's penalty shout: "We are down so it is not a difficult decision for VAR to give that [against us]. The cynical part of me would say it's a comfortable decision to give. I think it is a push in the back. Then it goes 2-1 and then 3-1 pretty quickly. You are going to have parts that are disappointing and you have to deal with adversity. I thought we did ok with that in terms of more shots in the second half. We have been punished pretty severely.

"When it went 3-1 we looked out on our feet. What it has told us is that this is a really physical league. In the last 15-20 minutes there were players who looked out on their feet."

On bringing youngsters into the team: "We know they have got to be good enough. We have got some young players out there now. We don't want to just give them favours. They have got to be good enough to be involved in first-team training and then with the selection process.

"It is a disappointing result because we should have put them to bed. We didn't do enough to put them to bed and when they got that opportunity, they did that."

Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest captain Ryan Yates speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "Yeah it is class and I am just buzzing we got the win. First half we were lacklustre and I am so glad that we got the win, to be honest.

"I think we were naturally growing in the game anyway. They haven't won a lot of games this season but when they get flowing, they can cause problems.

"Our goal killed the momentum and the game opened up and we had space that we exploited with Callum [Hudson-Odoi] and Anthony [Elanga].

"I just love playing football on this stage. It is an absolute, pleasure. Would I rather be mid-table now? Yes. But it is part and parcel of football and it is up to us to get out of it."

On his swimming celebration: "For a long, long time, they have been singing 'If Yatesy scores, we're in the Trent'. Hopefully, they will be bringing that back as it sort of died off! I am just delighted really."
