Josh Coburn scored on his Millwall debut as they beat struggling Sheffield Wednesday 3-0 to clinch their first Championship win of the campaign.
Striker Coburn, signed on loan from Middlesbrough on Friday, tapped home at the far post 13 minutes into the second half after being teed up by Duncan Watmore, who doubled the Lions' lead on 71 minutes.
Watmore’s goal - a close-range finish after Wednesday failed to deal with Joe Bryan’s low corner - was his fourth in as many league matches this season.
And Jake Cooper added a late third by heading home Casper De Norre's right-wing cross.
Since thrashing Plymouth 4-0 in their opening game, the Owls have now lost three league matches in a row, failing to score and conceding nine goals in the process.
Coburn’s opener was the first effort on target - toothless Wednesday had almost 60% of possession in the first half but managed just one attempt on goal compared to Millwall’s 10.
Those attempts included Watmore heading over and George Saville - who found De Norre in the build-up to the third goal - seeing a shot deflected wide.
Wednesday continued to falter after the interval, whereas the home side emphatically found a cutting edge, with Coburn enjoying a dream start to his spell in south London.
Owls boss Danny Röhl will look to end his team’s worrying run when they return after the international break with a home fixture against QPR on 14 September, while Millwall will be at home to Luton.
Wednesday are 20th in the table after the first four matches. Neil Harris' improving Lions, who lost their first two games, are 14th.
Millwall boss Neil Harris told BBC Radio London:
"We made individual errors in the first two games and we’ve cut them out and picked up four points accordingly.
"We’re now up and running. We looked like a proper Championship football team that has a structure and an identity.
"There was a desire to keep a clean sheet. We scored three goals and, let's be honest, it could have been five or six.
"Josh has set his bar very high for performances but I wanted to bring him to the club because I know his attributes. He’s an outstanding player.
"He gave us the platform and the belief to build off today."
Sheffield Wednesday boss Danny Rohl told BBC Radio Sheffield:
"Three defeats in a row. It’s terrible. It’s time to wake up.
"There was high expectation after one win but we are back in reality and that means fighting for every point - that is what I want to see in the next few weeks.
"It’s a big, big sickener for me that it goes in the wrong direction and not the right direction. I need to find a solution in the next few weeks.
"Cheap goals (conceded) and also we created nothing up front. We have to improve as soon as possible.
"We are back a little bit in the past and that is very hard to take. We have a lot of individual players but now it’s about finding the best team.
"This is my job - to find the best team that is ready. We have to start as soon as possible to make the turnaround."
