    Manchester United

Manchester United's Kobbie Mainoo, speaking to TNT Sports: "Tough game as we expected - the atmosphere was really good.

"It's important to keep on winning more and more - we want to go as far as possible."

On playing in a more advanced role: "I enjoyed it - I am just happy to be on the pitch for Manchester United.

On his goal: "I am more annoyed that I missed the one in the first half, but I managed to get the one in the second half."

On gaining automatic qualification to the knockouts: "There is a lot of games.

"Anywhere we can get a rest is important."

  3. 'I'm super proud of this team'published at 22:52 Greenwich Mean Time

    FT: Rangers 2-1 Union Saint-Gilloise

    Rangers

Rangers boss Philippe Clement speaking to TNT Sports: "I'm super proud of this team. In this top-eight, there are four other teams we have played against.

"Like I said to maybe times, it was a rebuild in the summer with so many new players. You need to let the new players adapt but you see this dressing room wants to do everything for this club, for the colours, for the team. It was a real squad performance.

"Maybe we don't have the talent of other teams. The belief was there from the first day and we use everything we have.

"I know Nico [Nicolas Raskin] already a long time and he was running all over the pitch. He needs to learn this number six role on and off the ball. He's learning a lot and putting that in the games. He's always had a great mentality and fire inside.

"We're going to train well and use these weeks. We're going to use these in a good way, not to rest."

The new format this season has lowered quality of the Europa league. Eight teams that would otherwise have been in the EL have instead qualified for the CL. The drop in quality is proven by a team of United’s level managing to go unbeaten.

  5. 'We have to score more goals'published at 22:48 Greenwich Mean Time

    FT: FCSB 0-2 Man Utd

    Manchester United

Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim, speaking to TNT Sports: "We controlled very well the game. We had more possession.Of course we have to understand the opponent is not with all due respect the same level as the Premier League so we had more time to think and connect the plays.

I think Kobbie Mainoo in that position played very well. He had more freedom with not much responsibility running back all the time.

"The lads did a good job. Clean sheet again, create some chances but we have to score more goals because we had the opportunities. We made some rotation, we took two games from the schedule. It was a good day for us."

On second half substitutions: "Of course, Garnacho has a different pace and is more like a winger. Amad is really good one-v-one and he can push players to open more space. It was good work from everybody.

"We want to improve a lot with the way we play. We want to play closer than today, but we need to play like this.

"We have to adapt to improve the team.

"We have to recover the players. We are going to sleep here and to recover in the morning."

On February's schedule being quieter: "That is the biggest thing. More than the win is to have time to train and have time to recover the players."

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim: "That is really important for us to have time to train and have the connection between everybody - even the staff.

"In training we go to the pitch and get to know each other in the right environment.

"It is really important and then you can have one week to prepare again.

"Beginning of the week you can work your ideas and then have time to focus on the opponent.

"I can understand my players better. I put Kobbie Mainoo in that position, we need time to understand the players as he was struggling a lot defending as a midfielder.

"As a 10 he was so free playing the ball near the box.

"We need time to work with the players to understand what the best position is for them."

  18. 'Made in Tottenham tonight'published at 22:31 Greenwich Mean Time

    FT: Tottenham 3-0 Elfsborg

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou speaking to TNT Sports: "Really pleased. The objective was to try and win today and secure our spot in the top eight. I thought the boys were good, controlled the game and we were never really threatened. We had to bide our time as they sat deep, but they gave that up in the end to chase the game and the goals came.

"[The victory was] made in Tottenham tonight. I'm super pleased for the young boys, and we also shouldn't lose sight of the fact that we had a couple more teenagers out there too. I'm sure those three lads won't sleep tonight. We needed something tonight and the young lads stepped up.

"We've got another big week coming up so the changes at half time were about managing the load. We still picked up injury with Radu [Dragusin] which is not great, but the three lads at half time are good.

"[On Dragusin's injury] It is too early to say what it is, we will need to investigate futher. But it was his knee which is not good.

"We have another game on Sunday. The club will be working hard behind the scenes to see if we can get something done."
