Mikey Moore played well today. [For the goal] there wasn't a thought in his mind as he ran forward that he was going to pass the ball. Seeing the other two lads scoring earlier he obviously then wanted to take it on himself.

I don't think you should be disheartened when you go out on loan. You have to have experiences. There was a certain number nine, Harry Kane, at this football club that went on loan to Leyton Orient, Millwall, Leicester, and ended up becoming a legend of this club.

Of course that is a lot for Dane Scarlett to live up to, that calibre of player. But when he came on I thought his all round game was brilliant. He held the ball up well, he set up the second goal, his touches around the box too.

His movement was really good and he gets on the end of the Dejan Kulusevski cross and his confidence grows from there.

Ayoub El Kaabi is the top scorer in this season's Europa League with seven - after netting twice for Olympiakos today.

  6. 'You want to compete against the best'published at 22:19 Greenwich Mean Time 30 January

    FT: Rangers 2-1 Union Saint-Gilloise

    Rangers

Rangers captain James Tavernier speaking to TNT Sports: "We conceded a goal which we know as a team we should do a lot better. It made it closer. Delighted for the team and we sneaked into the top eight. We didn't have a clue until the end.

"I'm happy to play a part for the team wherever I'm asked by the manager I've still got the legs to go up and down the right wing.

"You want to compete against the best, European football is getting harder and harder each year and you want to test yourself.

"We'll take the weeks off, we can work hard on the training ground and properly train now. Delighted we can save those couple of weeks."

Yes, our league performances have been dreadful and yes, any Premier League power in Europe and should be among the contenders, but to finish fourth in the league phase with this squad, so ravaged by injury is impressive. Well done lads - us fans can say that for the first time in a long time

Man Utd took control of the game really well in the first half - they dominated possession.

FCSB surprised me with the way they set up. They were passive and never laid a glove. Amorim made some clever substitutions.

The second half there was more urgency and more penetration - they scored two really good goals and he will be pleased with this result.

  15. 'Important just to get the job done tonight'published at 22:10 Greenwich Mean Time 30 January

    FT: Tottenham 3-0 Elfsborg

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham defender Ben Davies speaking to TNT Sports: "It was important to just get the job done tonight. We know those games can be banana skins the longer they stay 0-0. You can feel the anxiety around the place and it jus builds. Thankfully this guy [Dane Scarlett] comes on and changes the game. A good win overall.

"He [Scarlett] came on in a game that was quite tough at times and he changed it for us. Dane's worked so hard over the last few years that I have been here with him. He's had to go on loan, play limited minutes in lots of games too. But to come on and play the way he did in that game was amazing. Nothing short of what he deserves."
