This is a poor show compared to last night's CL goalfest. Just 13 goals so far and 3 of those in one game!

It’s very clear why all these teams are in the Europa league.

  4. Mourinho & Ranieri back in businesspublished at 20:47 Greenwich Mean Time 30 January

Youssef En-Nesyri gets Fenerbahce level at Midtjylland and all of a sudden Jose Mourinho's team are back in business, well in the knockout playoffs as it stands.

And as I type out that news another former Premier League boss is all smiles, with Claudio Ranieri's Roma going ahead against Eintracht Frankfurt, thanks to a goal from former Manchester City defender Angelino.

The Italian side are up to 15th at present.

  5. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:47 Greenwich Mean Time 30 January

    Tottenham 0-0 Elfsborg

Well, Tottenham have had most of the possession and most of the chances, but have nothing to show for it at half-time.

As things stand they sit sixth in the table but they'll want to win the game to make sure of that place as other teams could still move them out of the top eight.

Three minutes added on in Bucharest. Steaua, sorry FCSB, will be happy with this scoreline I suspect.

  7. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 20:46 Greenwich Mean Time 30 January

    Rangers 1-0 Union Saint-Gilloise

Rangers now draw level with Union Saint-Gilloise for goals disallowed as Cyriel Dessers' fine volley is ruled out for offside. Shame, was a great finish.

Joe has an odd definition of a winning formula.

    Tom

Joe 20.41. All those managers listed. What are the winning ways that you speak of. You have to go back to sir Alex to look at winning ways

    Paul

Joe, I must have missed the scintillating football United have been playing for the last 13 years before Amorim came in.

    Rangers 1-0 Union Saint-Gilloise

That is inches away from 2-0 for Rangers! Cyriel Dessers skips through the Union Saint-Gilloise defence and looks to curl it into the bottom corner but it deflects off Ross Sykes.

  11. Postpublished at 20:44 Greenwich Mean Time 30 January

    FCSB 0-0 Man Utd

Christian Eriksen's attempted pass to Kobbie Mainoo isn't powerful enough to find the England man in the box.

Now Tyrell Malacia flashes a cross wide from the left but nobody is there to nudge it in.

  12. This is simply attack versus defencepublished at 20:44 Greenwich Mean Time 30 January

Elfsborg have an xG of 0.01 against Tottenham and have been boxed in their own half.

Spurs are just absolutely dominating this match, in total control but somehow haven't scored.

One reason for them not scoring is the sensational performance of Elfsborg goalkeeper Isak Pettersson - making spectacular saves from efforts on target by Mikey Moore and Pape Sarr.

The away end are still enjoying themselves despite their inability to attack - as 3000 travel from Boras in central Sweden.

  13. 'Tottenham a little slow in switching play'published at 20:44 Greenwich Mean Time 30 January

    Tottenham 0-0 Elfsborg

    Glenn Hoddle
Former England and Tottenham manager on TNT Sports

Tottenham have been a little slow in switching play across the pitch. Sometimes it has taken three or four passes to go from one side to the other. Someone needs to start using those diagonal balls to move the ball a bit quicker.

  14. 'A lapse in concentration'published at 20:43 Greenwich Mean Time 30 January

A lapse in concentration from Tyrell Malacia.

Manchester United don't want to be the masters of their own downfall when they have done so well.

A real waste as FCSB captain Adrian Sut is fed in the box but seems to drift wide and the chance is gone.

  16. Postpublished at 20:42 Greenwich Mean Time 30 January

    Rangers 1-0 Union Saint-Gilloise

Mohammed Fuseini will be very happy at seeing the flag being raised after that terrible attempt of slotting into the far corner. Union Saint-Gilloise won't want to see half-time just yet, they're having the better of it right now.

Completely agree with Mike (20:29) - I'm fed up with this new style under Amorim. Say what you want about the hopeless ETH, Rangnick, Ole, Jose, LVG and Moyes, but at least they all played The United Way. Why are we changing a winning formula?

Spurs with even just Van De Ven back is a changed team. He’s completely changed the control and is just one of about 10 players out. Just shows how the injury’s have affected Spurs this year.
