    Myles Lewis-Skelly

    • How much did he play? Arsenal left-back Myles Lewis-Skelly, in his first England senior squad, started both wins against Albania and Latvia. He played 90 minutes against Albania and 79 against Latvia.
    • What did he do? Lewis-Skelly made history on debut, scoring the first goal in the 2-0 win over Albania. He also completed 146 of his 152 passes across the two games.
    • What does his England future look like? A problem area for England in recent years has been at left-back. Luke Shaw has been the primary option, but injuries have blighted his availability for years. Off the last two showings, Lewis-Skelly has shown that he could be a long-term solution.
    • Alex Howell's average match rating vs Albania and Latvia: 7.5 (highest of players to play in both games with ratings)
    • Alex Howell's review: Alex described Lewis-Skelly as looking "comfortable" against Latvia, adding that the teenager "can be very happy with his start to international football".
    • BBC Sport readers' average match rating vs Albania and Latvia: 6.86 (highest of players to play in both games)

  2. Good win, clean sheet, job done - Guehipublished at 12:26 Greenwich Mean Time 25 March

    England 3-0 Latvia

    England

"Good win, clean sheet, job done," said Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi, who was drafted into the starting line-up to face Latvia after not being selected for Friday's win over Albania.

"Teams are going to come in and make it very difficult for us, low-block teams. We have got to find a way to unlock those defences and I thought we did a good job today.

"Yeah, getting the job done, but finding the rhythm, building connections, building relationships, keeping standards high as much as possible. I think overall its been a good week."

Jarrad Branthwaite has to be in the England set-up. I'd have him in the starting 11. Young, improving, capable, great passer, the most two-footed centre-back in the Premier League. I find it unbelievable he isn't in the squad. Got to be in the squad in June.

  4. Player review after Tuchel's first England camp - Dan Burnpublished at 12:17 Greenwich Mean Time 25 March

    Dan Burn

    • How much did he play? Newcastle centre-back Dan Burn made his England debut and played for the duration of their win over Albania, but was left on the bench against Latvia.
    • What did he do? Against Albania, Burn made eight more defensive actions than any of his England teammates. He also hit the woodwork twice and completed 135 of his 137 attempted passes in the match.
    • What does his England future look like? While Burn's debut was probably the most surprising of those who featured in the squad, he gave a pleasing account of himself. Burn does face stiff competition from Ezri Konsa, Marc Guehi, John Stones, Harry Maguire, Jarrel Quansah, Levi Colwill and more for regular minutes.
    • Alex Howell's average match rating vs Albania and Latvia: 6 (didn’t play vs Latvia)
    • Alex Howell's review: Alex described Burn as "solid". While Burn had a "couple of nervy moments", Alex added Burn "dealt with the danger afterwards" and was a "threat from set-pieces".
    • BBC Sport readers' average match rating vs Albania and Latvia: 6.67 (didn’t play vs Latvia)

  5. 'I will miss all of them'published at 12:15 Greenwich Mean Time 25 March

    England

One thing that Thomas Tuchel is probably still pondering is how to fill his time most effectively during international breaks.

You can bet his ideal scenario would be to spend it working with the players, but that's part of the frustrations that come with international management.

The new England boss spoke highly of his first training camp with the national team and how he plans on staying in touch with all the players at his disposal.

"Now not until June, I will miss all of them because the camp was great, the energy was great, team spirit was good," he told BBC Radio 5 Live.

"Now we need to stay in touch, we need to keep this going, we cannot wait until June but now the focus will be on club football for the players.

"I will be at their side, I will observe and be at their side and not lose the connection."

Tuchel was brought in for his tactical nous in knockout tournaments as we’ve failed to beat the big teams previously, not to beat Latvia 6-0 and entertain the neutrals. Give him time and let him do what he was brought in to do.

  7. Player review after Tuchel's first England camp - Marc Guehipublished at 12:08 Greenwich Mean Time 25 March

    Marc Guehi

    • How much did he play? Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi did not feature in the win over Albania, but played the duration against Latvia.
    • What did he do? Guehi helped England to keep a clean sheet on Monday night against Latvia. While he made more defensive actions than any other England player, he did also cause an error that led to a Latvia shot.
    • What does his England future look like? With Guehi only playing once, it does feel like he is among those fighting for minutes, alongside Dan Burn, Jarell Quansah and Levi Colwill, as well as Harry Maguire and John Stones, who were both absent through injury.
    • Alex Howell's average match rating vs Albania and Latvia: 5 (didn’t play vs Albania)
    • Alex Howell's review: Against Latvia, Alex said "it wasn't Guehi's best night", adding that "it seems like he is going to have to win Tuchel around".
    • BBC Sport readers' average match rating vs Albania and Latvia: 5.82

Were you impressed by Guehi or not? Let us know with a thumbs up or thumbs down.

As well as giving your views on the winners and losers of this England camp, we also want to know who could provide England with what Phil McNulty described as the 'missing link' or 'X Factor' to propel this team to greatness.

They could include players inside or outside the current squad.

  9. Player review after Tuchel's first England camp - Ezri Konsapublished at 11:55 Greenwich Mean Time 25 March

    Ezri Konsa

    • How much did he play? Aston Villa centre-back Ezri Konsa was one of only four England players to feature in every minute of the wins over Albania and Latvia.
    • What did he do? Across the two matches, Konsa won 14 of his 20 duels, helped keep two clean sheets and was fouled eight times. Against Latvia, Konsa also had two shots on target.
    • What does his England future look like? While there is plenty of competition at centre-back, to have been the only centre-back to play every minute has seemingly put him ahead of Marc Guehi, Dan Burn, Levi Colwill and Jarell Quansah in the pecking order.
    • Alex Howell's average match rating vs Albania and Latvia: 6.5
    • Alex Howell's review: Against Albania, Alex described Konsa as being "very tidy", adding that Konsa looked "composed once again" against Latvia.
    • BBC Sport readers' average match rating vs Albania and Latvia: 6.44

What will cheer Thomas Tuchel is that he has plenty of raw materials to work with.

Jude Bellingham is a generational talent, while Arsenal's Myles Lewis-Skelly has demonstrated he is a natural at this level.

There was more good news from The Hawthorns where another Gunner, Ethan Nwaneri, excelled in a goalscoring performance for England Under-21s - and the return of a third Arsenal player, Bukayo Saka, will offer an added attacking dimension.

Tuchel's task is to find the "X Factor", the missing ingredient, to get England's men over the line they have failed to cross since the 1966 World Cup.

Two wins from two games is a satisfactory - and totally expected - opening to the Tuchel era, but now he must discover the missing link to enable him to deliver the exciting England side he has promised.

And on the somewhat tedious evidence of his first two games, Tuchel will have plenty to exercise his mind between now and the next international camp in June.

  11. Player review after Tuchel's first England camp - Kyle Walkerpublished at 11:43 Greenwich Mean Time 25 March

    Kyle Walker

    • How much did he play? Right-back Kyle Walker, currently on loan at AC Milan from Manchester City, played in the duration of England's win over Albania and featured off the bench for the final 11 minutes against Latvia.
    • What did he do? Against Albania, he failed to make a single defensive action, but did create one big chance. In his cameo against Latvia, he did make two tackles.
    • What does his England future look like? Competition at right-back remains fierce, with Reece James, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Tino Livramento among those vying to keep him out of the team.
    • Alex Howell's average match rating vs Albania and Latvia: 6
    • Alex Howell's review: Against Latvia, Alex said Walker's "experience helped a backline with two debutants", adding he was "hard to judge defensively as he didn't have much to deal with". Against Latvia, Alex said Walker had little to do defensively.
    • BBC Sport readers' average match rating vs Albania and Latvia: 5.45

  12. 'Typical England dominant performance'published at 11:38 Greenwich Mean Time 25 March

    David James
Former England goalkeeper on 5 Live Breakfast

I was impressed. I think first of all, Latvia came with a plan which was to basically not let any goals in. I thought there was a wonder save initially, but a good block by the goalkeeper on the line and an even better ability to put it over the crossbar. Had that gone in, we would have had that 6-0, 5-0 that a lot of fans would have expected.

It was a moment of brilliance from Reece James with the free-kick. I have to say, it's one of the best free-kicks I have seen in a long while.

I felt at the beginning there was a plan from England that wasn't quite working, even if it was very disciplined.

In the second half we saw a little bit more of an adjustment, which the second goal was the best example of - Declan Rice making the inside run and playing Harry Kane at the back.

At 2-0, Latvia thought they might have a go at it. I think their longest spell of possession which was about three minutes, occurred. Then it turned into a typical England dominant performance, substitutes, a little bit of individual skill.

In the end, three points, six points in total for Thomas Tuchel and the England team.

It's hard to grumble about two clean sheets, isn't it?

There was not much for Jordan Pickford to do against Albania and Latvia, to be fair.

But former England stopper David James described both displays as "typically dominant" England performances...

  14. Player review after Tuchel's first England camp - Jordan Pickfordpublished at 11:30 Greenwich Mean Time 25 March

    Jordan Pickford

    • How much did he play? Long-serving Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford featured for the duration of both of England's Wembley wins over Albania and Latvia.
    • What did he do? Pickford had very little to do, not making a single save against Albania and only required to make one save against Latvia.
    • What does his England future look like? It's safe to say that Pickford's reign as England's first-choice goalkeeper looks set to stay for the foreseeable future. He has now kept four-clean sheets in a row.
    • Alex Howell's average match rating vs Albania and Latvia: 6
    • Alex Howell's review: Despite little to do in terms of saves to make, Alex felt Pickford's distribution against Albania "was good as always".
    • BBC Sport readers' average match rating vs Albania and Latvia: 5.75

We have compiled an average rating for each of the players that got a decent run-out over the two matches and added some analysis of their performances and their future potential as an England regular.

What we would like you to do is give them a thumbs up or down, to determine how many of you were impressed by their performances.

    England

    About those friendlies...

England play in June against Senegal, who are currently ranked 17th in the world, were crowned African champions in 2021 and reached the last 16 of the 2022 World Cup, where they lost to England.

The Three Lions then host Wales in October. Craig Bellamy's side, who are 28th in Fifa's world rankings, recently won promotion to the top tier of the Nations League and are unbeaten in their last seven matches.

Both teams are ranked higher than any opposition England will face in their World Cup qualifying campaign.

Morning. All Premier League sides find it difficult to play attractive football and break down opposition when confronted by a low-blocking team. To expect England to fare any better with limited time together is absurd. They are going to need some tougher friendlies before the World Cup.

  19. World Cup where Tuchel will be judgedpublished at 10:52 Greenwich Mean Time 25 March

    England 3-0 Latvia

    John Murray
BBC Radio 5 Live chief football correspondent

Thomas Tuchel has to get used to the realities of being an international football manager.

Frequently during the week he has referenced the limited time he has on the training pitch with his players and now, even more than before, he will be aware of how precious every minute is with them.

He will not work with them again until June.

The group will be decided over an intense period in September, October and November.

England go to Belgrade in September and if they come through the matches against Serbia - currently ranked 32 in the world - with positive results then Tuchel should be well on the way to the World Cup, where he will ultimately be judged.

By then, these matches against Albania and Latvia will have faded into the past.
