    Middlesbrough 0-0 Blackburn

Blackburn could do nothing about the storm that postponed their game against Portsmouth on Saturday.

Up in Middlesbrough tonight, they will be contending with a side that that has rained down goals in torrential proportions of late.

Boro have banged in 15 in their past three games! Before that, they had managed 14 goals in 13 league games to start the season.

And we are up and away in three of the night's five games.

Derby's game against Swansea will get going at 20:00 GMT, and we have been made to wait for the game at Fratton Park to start because of the power cut there.

Right, we're meant to be kicking off in a moment but we have lost all light inside Fratton Park.

I wasn't sure if it was planned for a light show but I have never seen a light show here before and the lights have been off for nearly 10 minutes now!

Swansea came out the wrong side of a seven-goal thriller against high-flying Leeds United on Sunday, which means they head to the East Midlands looking to avoid a third straight Championship defeat.

Pride Park, however, has provided the Swans with little joy over the past decade. They are winless in their past five away league visits to Derby (D2 L3) since a 1-0 win under Paulo Sousa in February 2010.

On their return to the Championship, Derby have made Pride Park somewhat of a fortress.

They have lost only once at home this season and kept four clean sheets in seven league games at Pride Park.

Their past two game on home turf, however, have ended as 1-1 draws.

  7. Is Harris Millwall's magic man?published at 19:39 Greenwich Mean Time 27 November

When a relegation battle looked to be turning ugly last season Millwall turned to a man who knows the club's DNA and they dialled H for Harris.

Neil Harris, back for a second stint in charge oversaw eight wins from their final 13 games which pulled them comfortably into mid-table and just look at them now.

An eight game unbeaten run, five clean sheets and conceding just three goals along the way has pitched them into the play-off bun fight.

Former Tottenham defender Japhet Tanganga has featured in 14 of their 16 league games this season providing Harris with a solid base to build around and while it might not quite yet have clicked for Macauley Langstaff they've always got a goal in them, particularly from set pieces.

A first league meeting for 12 years between these two sides and let's start with a quiz - who scored the last goal in this fixture?

Harry Kane produced the winner for Millwall on an April evening at Fratton Park in 2012 and while his career has gone stratospheric in the ensuing years, Portsmouth have been to the brink of extinction and the fourth tier of English football while Millwall have been down to League One and FA Cup semi-finalists.

Portsmouth's return to the Championship has been a bit of a slow burn with a first win coming in game number 10 of the season and an opening victory at Fratton Park only recorded earlier this month against Preston.

But with defender Connor Ogilvie feeling they are now adapting to life in the Championship victory this evening could take them to within one point of safety.

Storm Bert put Blackburn out of a game at the weekend, with Saturday's match against Portsmouth postponed because of a waterlogged pitch at Ewood Park.

Blackburn head coach John Eustace was disappointed the match fell victim to the weather, which means tonight's game against a Middlesbrough side in red hot form is their first since 9 November.

An impromptu training session was instead called by Eustace, with Rovers players put to work at the club's Brockhall training facility that afternoon.

While they were doing that, Middlesbrough were banging in the goals at Oxford.

Boro's 6-2 win on Saturday means they have now hit the back of the net 15 times in their past three games!

No wins from 12 Championship games, seven goals scored in that run and a worrying knack of finding ways not to win - it's a recipe which has QPR rock bottom of the Championship.

So, what can boss Marti Cifuentes do to turn the tide?

Well, matching their performance from Saturday's 1-1 draw with Stoke is one area Cifuentes has earmarked whereby a win in Wales tonight could lift them off the foot of the table.

The Londoners also need to find a regular source of goals, more so given the wretched run currently being experienced by their Slovenian international Zan Celar.

Having scored 40 goals in 75 league starts for Swiss top flight side Lugano it looked to be a smart signing but the 25-year-old is still searching for his first Rangers' goal after 16 appearances in all competitions, culminating in missing a penalty at the weekend.

Celar still has the backing of his manager and before QPR fans think it might not be a great night, they have claimed more points on the road this season than at home - cause for optimism?

Having taken over from Erol Bulut and claimed 15 points from his first 10 games Omer Riza remains only the interim head coach at Cardiff City.

But with just one point banked from their past three Championship matches are the Cardiff hierarchy keeping their powder dry regarding a permanent appointment?

With three of the next four games against QPR, Coventry and Preston this could be a pivotal fortnight for both Riza and his team.

Aaron Ramsey, Isaak Davies, Kion Etete and Ryotaro Tsunoda remain sidelined through injury but home form will be key with 12 of their 16 points coming at the Cardiff City Stadium so far this season.

Leeds United have the chance to go top of the table for the second time in four days if they beat Luton Town tonight.

The Whites climbed to the summit in dramatic fashion on Sunday as they came out on top against Swansea in a seven-goal thriller.

Sheffield United shot to the top of Championship on Tuesday after beating Oxford, and Leeds were also leapfrogged by Burnley and Sunderland who each played last night as well.

Daniel Farke's side will be keen to move up from fourth to reclaim their status as competition pacesetters tonight when they host a struggling Hatters side, whose boss Rob Edwards remains under pressure despite them coming away with a narrow win against Hull City on Saturday.

Last night's results will have given plenty of encouragement to the strugglers who are in action this evening.

Cardiff's meeting with QPR has a lot riding on it. Victory for the Welsh side would propel them up to sixteenth place and leave the Londoners six points from safety.

A win for QPR could lift them off the bottom and haul a number of teams well and truly into the mire.

Portsmouth will have it all to do at home to in-form Millwall but a win would see them within striking distance of safety.

Leeds went from top to fourth place with the results last night but a win over Luton will send them back to the summit this evening.

Victory for Middlesbrough over Blackburn would push them into fifth place while Millwall can cause even more of a jam by winning at Portsmouth.
