  1. 'The games will be more difficult'published at 14:02 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February

Newcastle v Nottingham Forest (Sun, 14:00 GMT)

    Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest boss, Nuno Espirito Santo on Forest's season so far: "This season we have competed well and this is what we expect in the final stage of the season.

"The games will be more difficult and we have to deal with everything that’s all-around.

"The expectations, our own beliefs and moments of the players. In terms of performance, that's sometimes you cannot sustain. That’s what I mean by being strong in all the aspects.

"I don’t change my approach. I know what we have more than everything.

"We have to keep the same routine and approach it day-by-day. Look at all the details which enables us to compete well.

"This is what we're focused on."

  2. Three players set to return on Saturdaypublished at 14:00 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February

Everton v Man Utd (12:30 GMT)

    Manchester United

Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim provided a squad fitness update ahead of Saturday's match against Everton: "This week is better than last week because we didn't lose players. Christian [Eriksen], Manuel [Ugarte] and Lenny [Yoro] return."

Amorim was keen to clarify what he meant by comments he recently made about Christian Eriksen's heart: "It was a misunderstanding and I want to be really clear on that. He is healthy and ready to play for many years. It was my limitation in explaining the injuries."

On longer-term injuries, Amorim added: "Amad [Diallo] is a long time, Mason [Mount] and Luke [Shaw] continue to recover but I don't have a date [for their return]. Toby [Collyer] is the closest, but not now. We have to adapt.

"Altay [Bayindir] and Tom are recovering. Again, we don't have a date."

Third and fourth respectably in the Premier League goal-scoring charts, there should be loads of goals in this fixture.

Although he has gone two Premier League games without a goal, Newcastle forward Alexander Isak has scored in all three of his games against Nottingham Forest (four goals).

Only five Magpies players have scored in four in a row against an opponent, most recently Callum Wilson against Spurs between 2020 and 2023.

Nottingham Forest striker Chris Wood on the other hand has scored 29 Premier League goals in 41 appearances under Nuno Espirito Santo and is amongst the players to have 50+ shots while playing for a manager on record since 2003-04.

Ruben Amorim faces the media this lunchtime before Saturday's early kick-off against Everton with questions starting to stack up on the Portuguese.

Last weekend's defeat at Tottenham leaves the Red Devils in the unthinkable position of 15th in the table, a place behind the Toffees.

The lack of victories, lack of goals and general lack of direction since taking over means the pressure will inevitably crank up on the ex-Sporting boss Amorim if he does not address those issues.

By contrast, Everton have been rejuvenated since the second-coming of David Moyes, looking seemingly safe from relegation now by moving 13 points clear of the dropzone.

The Scot was given less than a season in charge at Old Trafford after taking over from Sir Alex Ferguson and while it is still early days for Amorim, he really needs to somehow start turning the ship around.

  5. 'We have to compete better'published at 13:52 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February

Newcastle v Nottingham Forest (Sun, 14:00 GMT)

    Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo on Forest having to improve after their 2-1 loss to Fulham: “All over the place we have to play better.

“We have to compete better. That’s what we will be trying to do.

“We are reaching the moment of the season that everyone will be fighting for their own objectives.

“This is where everything is decided in the last 10 games.”

On Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson facing his old team: "I think he’s settled pretty well. The squad has helped him, he is happy and he is playing very good.

"He is one of our midfielders who is versatile enough to change positions, he is doing well, but I hope he performs better on Sunday."

  6. 'Awoniyi is available'published at 13:50 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February

"Also, Hilly [James Hill] has been training with us this week and we will see if he makes the squad. If not, it is also good news because he will make the squad for the next games that we have. Next week we have three games. It's good that we slowly, slowly start recovering more players."

  8. Nuno on the waypublished at 13:46 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February

  9. 'Good to be there with big teams'published at 13:44 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February

Bournemouth v Wolves (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

    Bournemouth

Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola on his side potentially going to into the top four, depending on other results: "For me, we are on 43 points. We have the chance to add one more point tomorrow or three more points. That's what we will try [to do] tomorrow and that's it.

"The position [we are in now] is nice, it's good to be there with big teams but we need many more points if we want to fight for something at the end of the season. We want to continue adding points and see where the table puts us at the end. We will not change our approach."

Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola on how good his side have been this season: "For me, you analyse or evaluate at the end of the season. We are doing well, it's true, this season we are playing well quite consistently but we will see where we finish at the end.

"It is good to be in a good moment, in a good position right now but they don't give you anything in March. It is at the end of the season when you can achieve or you can see how we have done. We will see where we are then, not now."

  11. Saka and Martinelli 'progressing really well'published at 13:38 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February

They are progressing really well. Gabby is a bit ahead of Bukayo but we will have to see how the boys are feeling and what we are prepared to do."

On whether Saka has recently been on holiday: "He did go, that question is for him."

  12. Iraola coming soonpublished at 13:36 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February

Bournemouth v Wolves (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

    Bournemouth

Bournemouth's news conference will begin shortly. The Cherries are flying high in the Premier League in fifth place and their only defeat in their last 13 league games was a 2-0 loss against Liverpool in their most recent home match.

Andoni Iraola's side have had to contend with a host of injuries so questions will likely be asked if any players are closer to being in the squad for the weekend.
