    FT: Barcelona 9-0 Hammerby

Manchester City's victory means they sit top of Group D with six points having won both of their games.

Barcelona put that defeat by City last week with a 9-0 thrahing of Swedish side Hammerby in the other game this evening with goals from Caroline Graham Hansen, Alexia Putellas and Fridolina Rolfo, among others.

That means they have their first points on the board with St Polten the only side yet to get off the mark.

Earlier on this evening, Mary Fowler scored a late winner as Manchester City survived a scare to beat Austrians St Polten in the Women's Champions League.

Visitors City had started their European campaign with a hugely impressive 2-0 win against defending champions Barcelona, but they were made to work for these three points in Group D by spirited opponents.

Alanna Kennedy had given Manchester City the lead with a stunning strike in the fifth minute, driving in an unstoppable effort off the inside of the post from 25 yards.

St Polten had shown flashes of decent attacks and they equalised just before the break when Manchester City failed to deal with a corner and Melanie Brunnthaler fired in from close range.

Half-time offered the visitors a chance to regroup but they were stunned early in the second half as Kamila Dubcova's neat finish put St Polten ahead.

But the lead lasted barely five minutes as Aoba Fujino calmly slotted in her first goal for Manchester City.

Fowler then ensured the visitors took all three points when she nodded home following a corner late on.

  10. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 87 mins

    Arsenal 3-1 Valerenga

Arsenal almost punish Valerenga further as Stina Blackstenius gets on a decent run. She gets herself one-on-one with the goalkeeper but her low effort is parried away by Tove Enblom.

Blackstenius goes for the roof of the net on the rebound but it hammers off the crossbar.

    Mariona Caldentey (85 mins)

Lovely football from Arsenal. It starts with Alessia Russo's threaded ball for Frida Maanum, then Maanum finds Stina Blackstenius on the left but there's no clear sight of goal for the Swede.

She instead opts to pass to Mariona Caldentey and the Spaniard finishes brilliantly into the roof of the net.

Not much in the way of clear-cut chances in this half and it just feels like Arsenal are going to need another goal to see this one out.
