  2. Recap: Deadline day headlinespublished at 16:10 British Summer Time 1 September

The big deals that have dominated the headlines in recent days are starting to reach their conclusion.

Here are the top lines from a fascinating summer 2025 deadline day so far:

    • Arsenal's only incoming of the day expected to be Piero Hincapie from Bayer Leverkusen
    • Man Utd to sign Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp for £18.1m, ending their pursuit of Emiliano Martinez

Fulham have agreed a £22m fee with Chelsea to sign winger Tyrique George.

The 19-year-old is expected to agree a five year contract at Craven Cottage and Chelsea could also benefit in the future from a sell-on clause.

However, the deal also comes after Sporting matched Fulham's club-record £34m offer to Shakhtar for Kevin, with a five year deal on the table.

Kevin had left open the possibility of moving to another club by not signing the five year contract on offer and is now expected to move to Portugal.

Woah, don't get ahead of yourself, Gareth!

My two-hour loan is now complete by the way, but what a spell it's been.

Wolves have signed Tolu Arokodare, Chelsea have taken Brighton's Facundo Buonanotte on a season-long loan and Liverpool have agreed a deal to sign Crystal Palace's Marc Guehi.

Greatest loan spell since Henrik Larsson?

Liverpool have had the best summer transfer window since the Premier League began. The quality of signings has been next level, but now the expectation increases.

    Dan, Worcester

Best transfer window since Man City summer 2017 - Laporte, Walker, Ederson and Silva helped them to so many titles over 6 years

    Harry, Wirral

Best Premier League summer window has to be Chelsea in 2004. Robben, Drogba, Carvalho, Cech and Paulo Ferreira all signed to a José Mourinho who had just arrived in the UK and went on to win the title that year.

Chelsea have agreed an improved loan with obligation deal for striker Nicolas Jackson to join Bayern Munich.

Jackson, 24, is set to complete an initial £14.3m (16.5m euros) move, ending an on-off transfer saga, which crucially includes a mandatory obligation to buy, rather than an optional one, for £56.2m (65m euro).

It's a deal on slightly improve terms as the one agreed on Saturday and now worth in excess of £70m. There is also a higher likelihood that Jackson will remain at the Allianz Arena beyond this current season, with personal terms are already in place for a future permanent contract.

Serie A side Inter Milan have agreed to sign Manchester City defender Manuel Akanji on loan for one million euros (£870,000).

The deal includes an option to make the move permanent for 15m euros (£13m), which becomes an obligation if Inter win Serie A.

The 30-year-old Switzerland international has not featured for City this season and had interest from Crystal Palace, AC Milan and Galatasaray, but his preference was to move to a club playing in the Champions League.

  12. Liverpool set for record windowpublished at 15:46 British Summer Time 1 September

    Liverpool

Liverpool's current spend this summer sits at £290m, according to FootballTransfers.com.

If the Alexander Isak and Marc Guehi deals go through, with the fees being mooted, their spend in this window will rocket up to £455m, which would smash the record for a single club spend in a single window.

The record was previously held by Chelsea in the summer of 2023 (£400m).

Mark Guehi will be Liverpool's best signing this summer

    Jonathan

Guehi is the signing that guarantees Liverpool the title, not Isak. As a Chelsea fan who thought he was the best academy product since JT, selling him for peanuts to Palace was bad enough, but to see Liverpool grab him when we have a huge central defensive hole is awful!

  16. 'A great example of doing the right things'published at 15:36 British Summer Time 1 September

On Sunday's Match of the Day pundit Wayne Rooney praised Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi saying he's 'got everything right' amid interest from champions Liverpool throughout this summer's transfer window.

The defender captained and scored for the Eagles in their 3-0 away win at Aston Villa this weekend, which has now proved a perfect farewell as he is on the cusp of a move to Merseyside.

Leicester City have completed the signing of forward Julian Carranza on a season-long loan from Feyenoord.

The 25-year-old scored four goals in the Eredvisie for Feyenoord last season after joining from MLS side Philidelphia Union.

He was also on target for the Dutch side in the second leg of their Champions League knockout win over AC Milan.

  18. 'Guehi is such a crucial player'published at 15:31 British Summer Time 1 September

    Crystal Palace

    Oliver GlasnerImage source, Getty Images

Less than 24 hours ago, Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner told BBC Sport: "we have to keep Marc [Guehi] if we want to play a successful season."

Glasner said there was an agreement between himself and Palace chairman, Steve Parish to only sell Palace's captain if they had a replacement.

Palace's boss also added there would be "no chance to find the right replacement in one day," if Guehi was to leave the south London club.

"We wanted a replacement by the 1st July. We have this agreement so it is clear from me.

"He is such a crucial player. He is one of our key players - he is our captain.

"Again, if we want to play a successful season we have to keep him," added Glasner after Palace's 3-0 victory over Aston Villa.
