Buonanotte to Chelsea on Loan - I don't understand that one. He has the potential to be a VERY good payer, but needs playing time, not more bench-warming time. Another strong EFL club would have been better IMO.

    Pete

Didn't expect the Buonanotte transfer, I haven't heard anything about it all day!

Wolves have completed the £24m signing of Genk striker Tolu Arokodare.

The Nigeria international has signed a four-year deal and moves to Molineux with Vitor Pereira's side having lost their opening three Premier League games.

He joins to offer support to fellow forward Jorgen Strand Larsen with Wolves rejecting bids of £50m and £55m from Newcastle last week.

Arokodare scored 21 times in the Belgian Pro League to win the Golden Boot last season.

The 24-year-old has scored 41 goals in 113 appearances for Genk after joining from Latvian side Valmiera in 2023.

He has one goal in four appearances for Nigeria, scoring his first against Russia in June.

But here are the top lines from the gripping summer 2025 deadline day so far:

    • Arsenal's only incoming of the day expected to be Piero Hincapie from Bayer Leverkusen
    • Chelsea youngster Tyrique George linked with a move to RB Leipzig or Fulham
    • Tottenham agree deal for Randal Kolo Muani from PSG on a season-long-loan
    • Julio Enciso leaves Brighton to sign for Strasbourg

Wrexham have signed Coventry City midfielder Ben Sheaf in another statement of intent from the Championship newcomers.

The Hollywood-owned Welsh club already have the highest net spend in the second tier this summer and have paid in the region of £6.5m for Sheaf.

The 27-year-old has signed a three-year contract at the Stok Cae Ras.

"The trajectory the club is on, I'm excited to be on board with that," said Sheaf. "From speaking to the manager, and from the ambition of the owners, it's clear it's only going one way. I'm looking forward to contributing.

"When the opportunity to move to Wrexham came up, it's something I really wanted to be able to do – I'm excited to get started now."

Sheaf played an integral role in Coventry's run to the FA Cup semi-finals in 2024 and was rated among the Championship's best midfielders as he helped them reach the play-offs last season.

But a combination of injuries, the signing of Matt Grimes from Swansea City in January and the emergence of Victor Torp saw him fall down the pecking order under Frank Lampard.

Sheaf becomes Wrexham's 11th signing of the summer, and Manchester City defender Issa Kabore looks like he will be the next on a season-long loan.

I think a Iot depends on the time. When I asked to leave Man United, I released a statement, and I went in and apologised for releasing that statement and the reason I apologised was the timing of it was before a Champions League game. And that's not me, I wouldn't do anything to affect the players on the pitch, so that's why I apologised.

But I think now it's so easy for players to release statements or put it on social media accounts and I think there's ways to handle things now, like [Yoane] Wissa doing it 24 hours before the deadline, I think is crazy.

This has been going on all summer, why not come out and speak then? Instead of releasing a statement, release a video earlier in the window and say, 'listen there's a good opportunity for me to move on, if that can happen it works great, if it can't I'll do everything I can for Brentford.'.

I'd actually say Arsenal had a decent window. Not that I agree Gyokeres is the best choice, they got their man. Eze is a good buy as is Zubimendi and Norgaard as a squad player.

Arsenal fans, if Piero Hincapie is your only incoming today as our report Alex says, are you pleased with the business done in this window?

You've got the striker you've desired for a while adding the likes of Martin Zubimendi and Eberechi Eze.

Good stuff if you ask me.
