A lot of disgruntled people claiming Guehi is losing out because of ‘good behaviour’. He won’t lose out on anything. 25 years old, FA Cup winning captain, England player. Brilliant player, brilliant professional ans brilliant person. He’ll get everything that’s coming to him, which is nothing but the best.

On how Liverpool manage all of their forward options:

They will rotate for sure, but they also have the Africa Cup of Nations when Mohammed Salah will step out of the team, so there will be opportunities there to spread the load.

We know Cody Gakpo can play across all three of those forward positions, and I would have though he would move over to that right hand side and Ekitike and Isak will rotata and be interchangeable off the left and down the middle.

But what you've got to realise is that you're going to Liverpool where they play in the Premier League and Champions League and other cup competitions, and you won't be playing every week. There will be competition for places.

  14. 'Trafford will be disappointed'published at 21:00 British Summer Time 1 September

    Stephen Warnock
Former Liverpool and Aston Villa defender on Transfer Deadline Day Summer 2025

If Gianluigi Donnarumma goes in, he is number one. Why go in for him?

If Donnarumma comes in he has the pedigree and understanding of what it takes to play for a big team.

He doesn't go in there without thinking he is number one. From James Trafford's point of view, I would be bitterly disappointed.

Yes, you can learn of a great goalkeeper, but there is an element I could have been playing for Burnley in the Premier League.

He probably looked at it and thought there's an opportunity to go win trophies.

I think Trafford will be disappointed.

The two most baffling deals of this window are Facundo Buonanotte and Julio Enciso both belong to Chelsea's parent company.

The way PSR works - all the profit from the sale is booked this year. The fee you pay is spread out over five years.

The book profit is the difference in that figure.

  20. 'If it doesn't happen, so be it'published at 20:50 British Summer Time 1 September

    Joe Hart
Former England and Man City goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live Monday Night Club

Speaking earlier about how Guehi would be feeling if his move to Liverpool collapsed - which we now know it has:

I think if it was either of the other two players that forced their moves then there would be serious problems. But for Marc, I don't know him but for the impression that they get the way that he conducts himself...

I think he wanted to go to Liverpool and told Crystal Palace, "If you can make it happen that would be great, and if it doesn't happen, so be it."

By the sounds of it, he will shrug his shoulders and say, "My bag's packed, give me the nod and let me know who I'm playing for and I'll give my all."
