Summary

  1. Postpublished at 13:13 British Summer Time 1 September

    Celtic 2-0 Rangers

Perhaps Pat doesn't have the benefit of a replay.

But I have to say, there is a lot Jack Butland could have done about that.

A good finish, yes, but strange goalkeeping.

  2. 'Devastating from Kyogo'published at 13:12 British Summer Time 1 September

    Celtic 2-0 Rangers

    Pat Bonner
Former Celtic goalkeeper on BBC Sportsound

It was great play from Taylor, winning the ball and picking out the pass for Kyogo.

It's devastating from the forward. He takes on the responsbility himself and buries it beyond Butland.

I'm not sure the goalkeeper could do anything about that.

Celtic now have a huge, commanding lead in this game.

  3. 'Perfection from Kyogo'published at 13:12 British Summer Time 1 September

    Celtic 2-0 Rangers

    Chris Sutton
Former Celtic striker on Sky Sports

    Kyogo loves playing against Rangers!

There will be questions over Jack Butland but take nothing away from the finish, it's perfection from Kyogo.

  4. goal

GOAL! Celtic 2-0 Rangerspublished at 13:10 British Summer Time 1 September

    Kyogo Furuhashi

    This is his fixture.

Kyogo has far too much space and drills one in low from about 20 yards.

But Jack Butland, what are you up to? The Rangers keeper's inexplicable positioning gives the Celtic striker a full side of the goal to aim at.

  6. 'What an opportunity'published at 13:09 British Summer Time 1 September

    Celtic 1-0 Rangers

    Chris Sutton
Former Celtic striker on Sky Sports

What an opportunity. The whole stadium knows it.

He just has to get that on target, Butland is already on his way down.

I don't know how Hatate has missed that.

  7. 'That should be two'published at 13:09 British Summer Time 1 September

    Celtic 1-0 Rangers

    Pat Bonner
Former Celtic goalkeeper on BBC Sportsound

Hatate should have made it two.

It's a good pick out from Kuhn initially, but when the ball finds Hatate he puts his foot under it and curls it wide.

That would have put Celtic in a very commanding position.

  8. CLOSE!published at 13:08 British Summer Time 1 September

    Celtic 1-0 Rangers

    It should be two.

Almost identical to the first goal as Alistair Johnston pulls back to Daizen Maeda, who is denied by James Tavernier this time.

Reo Hatate then bends the rebound wide from a tight-ish angle, he should score though.

  9. Postpublished at 13:05 British Summer Time 1 September

    Celtic 1-0 Rangers

Cyriel Dessers runs into traffic in the Celtic box and takes a bump to the face.

Looked accidental and he's back on his feet.

    Celtic 1-0 Rangers

Rangers manage to take the sting out of the game a bit with a spell of possession.

They need a breather. Thirty-four on the clock.

Daizen Maeda, this fixture just brings out the best in him.

  12. 'Like a rabbit in the headlights'published at 13:01 British Summer Time 1 September

    Celtic 1-0 Rangers

    Billy Dodds
Former Rangers striker on BBC Sportsound

Celtic have stepped it up a notch, but that is because Rangers are currently stuck between a rock and a hard place.

They are like a rabbit in the headlights right now.

    Rangers are certainly rocked.

  13. Postpublished at 13:00 British Summer Time 1 September

    Celtic 1-0 Rangers

    Here come Celtic again.

Paulo Bernardo's ball to the near post is dangerous but John Souttar clears behind.

The corner is met at the front post by Daizen Maeda but no-one can provide the finishing touch.

  14. 'Cutting Celtic troubling Rangers'published at 12:59 British Summer Time 1 September

    Celtic 1-0 Rangers

    Billy Dodds

Rangers have to get through this period.

Celtic are cutting through them at will at the moment.

  15. Postpublished at 12:59 British Summer Time 1 September

    Celtic 1-0 Rangers

Rangers need to wake up, John Souttar thinks he has time in the box.

Of course you don't, this is an Old Firm derby.

The ball gets nicked off him but luckily for him it comes to nothing.

  17. 'Rangers a threat in attack but weak in defence'published at 12:55 British Summer Time 1 September

    Celtic 1-0 Rangers

    Billy Dodds
Former Rangers striker on BBC Sportsound

Rangers have looked a threat. They have had an attacking force about them and they should have scored from Matondo's header.

But they don't look solid defensively as a collective. Twice Celtic have cut through and found the net.

  18. Postpublished at 12:55 British Summer Time 1 September

    Celtic 1-0 Rangers

Rangers need to ride this Celtic wave or the game will be done shortly.

After such a positive start they look totally rattled at present.

    Celtic 1-0 Rangers

Rabbi Matondo is going to have to come off here.

He's getting worked on by the medical team and Ross McCausland is ready to replace him.

Matondo is determined to give it a go though...

  20. 'Tavernier panics but recovers'published at 12:53 British Summer Time 1 September

    Celtic 1-0 Rangers

    Billy Dodds
Former Rangers striker on BBC Sportsound

Jefte is slow to react and it's nicked off him, it's very poor.

Tavernier panics but gets the all-important touch to put it out for a corner.
