We're struggling to score goals and now we're letting Felix go out on loan? I can't understand that at all. With Ferguson and Duran off the market, we need to get Delap or Gyokeres, otherwise I fear we'll continue to slip down the table. On another note, send Sanchez to the reserves and give Jorgensen a chance in the league!

  2. Bournemouth in talks to sign teen forward Kroupipublished at 15:31 Greenwich Mean Time 3 February

    Nizaar Kinsella
    BBC Sport football news reporter

Bournemouth are in talks to complete a deal to secure FC Lorient’s Eli Junior Kroupi, 18, before the transfer deadline.

The forward would join Bournemouth but go back on loan to the League 2 side which are currently top of the table and looking to return to the top-flight after relegation last season.

Both clubs are owned by American billionaire Bill Foley and a deal could be re-visted in the summer if not done in time.

West Ham have been credited with an interest in Kroupi previously but are unlikely to make a late move.

    Arsenal

Anyone get the feeling Arteta is settling for top 4 this season with Liverpool not dropping points, and planning on Sesko in the summer for a 2026 title push with a fully fit squad?

I’ve been refreshing the BBC Sport website all day praying to see Arsenal at least making some progress towards signing an attacking player.

We said we'd bring you more on Joao Felix once we had it so here we are.

The Athletic's David Ornstein has reported that AC Milan have reached a verbal agreement with Chelsea for the 25-year-old. The deal is reported to be a straight loan deal with no buy option.

I'm an Arsenal fan, I like the thought of Liam Delap, 40 million for a 21-year-old who can score goals, just needs a team that can provide opportunities.

  6. 'We are seeing some trends in this January window'published at 15:20 Greenwich Mean Time 3 February

    Kieran Maguire
Football finance expert on BBC Radio 5 Live

We are seeing some trends in this window such as far greater use of the loan market. There are players on legacy contracts such as the likes of Ben Chilwell, Marcus Rashford and so on who don't want to take a pay cut which is understandable from their position in their career so the loan market is getting greater use.

We are seeing younger players being signed who tend to go for lower fees and I think there was hope that the Saudi Pro League might act as a catalyst this January but that has been fairly quiet.

And with the Uefa Champions League and Europa League, that didn't finish until last week and there were many clubs that may have possibly sold players had they been knocked out earlier in the competition. We have 48 teams in those two competitions who are carrying on and therefore clubs don't want to sell and players like the idea of potentially going further into that competition and winning a trophy.

    Simon Stone

Sheffield United have been linked to a number of Premier League experienced central defenders in recent days.

Millwall's Japhet Tanganga, formerly of Spurs, was mentioned, as has Crystal Palace's Rob Holding, who was at Arsenal.

The Blades say they will only go for one central defender.

The rumours around Holding are the strongest.

Southampton's Flynn Downes could be a player who makes a late move ahead of this evening's deadline.

The midfielder is unhappy at St Mary's but the Saints will not let him leave on the cheap, having signed him from West Ham in a deal worth up to £18m in the summer.

Downes, 26, still has three-and-a-half years left on his contract leaving Southampton in a strong position.

He was close to joining Ipswich in the summer before Southampton managed to get a deal done to bring him back after last season's successful loan.

A move to the Tractor Boys would be welcomed by all parties but it is currently considered unlikely.

Downes helped the Saints to promotion via the play-offs last May and has made 20 appearances, scoring once, this season but has started just two of Ivan Juric's eight games since he replaced Russell Martin in December.

Meanwhile, striker Cameron Archer could also stay at St Mary's despite reported interest from Leeds.

  12. City's Gonzalez pursuitpublished at 15:06 Greenwich Mean Time 3 February

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport's chief football news reporter

There are a lot of rumours in Portugal that Manchester City's pursuit of Nico Gonzalez has been successful and the Porto midfielder is on his way to England.

City are saying nothing as yet but it is well known Pep Guardiola is keen on the former Barcelona man and everyone is aware of the difficulties City have had dealing with Rodri's absence.

Gonzalez would be the answer to that problem - and potentially take City's winter transfer window spending up towards the £200m mark.

It's gone from nought to 100 - real fast.

If you're just joining us, let's have a recap on the completed deals and deals which we could possibly see later today.

    Completed deals:

Evan Ferguson, 20, has joined West Ham from Brighton on loan for the rest of the season.

Brighton have confirmed the signing of Stefanos Tzimas, 19, from Bundesliga 2 side FC Nuremberg - the move is subject to international clearing.

James Ward-Prowse, 30, has returned to West Ham from Nottingham Forest after the two clubs came to a mutual agreement to end his season-long loan.

    What deals could happen?:

Sourced have told BBC Sport that Spurs have agreed a deal to sign 19-year-old Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich.

According to reports, Nico Gonzalez, 23, is closing in on a deal which will see him move to Manchester City, but BBC Sport's Chief football reporter, Simon Stone says there is no agreement yet.

Aston Villa still expect to wrap up the loan signing of Marco Asensio, 29, from Paris St-Germain but there is less certainty surrounding their interest in Chelsea central defender Axel Disasi, 26, Phil McNulty reports.

BBC Sport’s Nick Mashiter and Nizaar Kinsella report that Wolves' £10m bid for Red Star Belgrade defender Nasser Djiga, 22, has been accepted.

  16. 'Postecoglou spoke with Tel at length earlier today'published at 14:57 Greenwich Mean Time 3 February

According to French football journalist Julien Laurens, Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou spoke with Mathys Tel at length earlier today and convinced him to join Spurs on loan.

Laurens wrote via X: "Ange Postecoglou spoke with Mathys Tel at length earlier today and convinced him to come to Tottenham. Huge role played by the Spurs manager to get one of the most coveted youngsters in Europe!"

It had been reported earlier this week that 19-year-old Tel had turned down a move to Spurs before today's deadline day U-Turn.
