Forest Green ended a run of four winless National League games with a 2-1 victory over fellow high-flyers Boreham Wood.

Robbie Savage's side made the breakthrough in the 34th minute as Jili Buyabu collected the ball, shifted it onto his left foot and buried it beyond Finlay Herrick.

Boreham Wood were looking to make it 15 league games unbeaten and they got back on level terms through Matt Rush, who made no mistake from close range to take his tally for the season to 10 goals.

But Forest Green were handed the chance to pick up an important win when they were awarded a penalty for handball and Harvey Bunker slotted in from 12 yards to secure all three points.
