Robbie Muirhead curled in Livingston's opener
Livingston kept pace with the Scottish Championship's top two with a convincing win over Hamilton Academical in West Lothian.
The hosts started on the front foot and were rewarded with a goal inside three minutes. A slick move down the left was switched to Robbie Muirhead and he cut inside to send a curling left-footed shot into the top corner.
Stevie May was at the heart of proceedings and it was his excellent chested pass into Scott Pittman's path that was key to Livingston's second.
The midfielder surged into the box and squared perfectly for Cristian Montano, who buried the ball high past Hamilton goalkeeper Charlie Albinson.
Hamilton, who remain eighth, wanted a penalty for handball shortly after, but referee Euan Anderson was unmoved. Substitute Steven Bradley came closest to a lifeline for the visitors with a free-kick that was well saved.
Meshack Ubochioma was superbly denied late on for Livingston before Lewis Smith netted a bizarre late third that deflected and looped over Albinson as David Martindale's side ran out deserved victors.
Livingston remain two points behind second-placed Ayr United and four behind league-leaders Falkirk, who beat Partick Thistle and Raith Rovers respectively.
