Brentford boss Thomas Frank on whether Sepp van de Berg can be a week in, week out Premier League player: "I hope so. Of course I have a few others that also can play centre-backs so there's good competition.

"We need a strong squad. We saw last year that we had a lot of injuries, we were unlucky, some of it in the defensive side. We lost Zanka [Mathias Jorgensen], so we need another one. We always want to sign one depending on what we need. Can we get a player that can lift the bigger picture, the bigger level, plus have potential to grow. That's always the best and we managed to get that in Sepp."

Brentford

Brentford boss Thomas Frank on signing Sepp van de Berg from Liverpool: "Very very happy that we managed to sign Sepp van de Berg. I think he is a great player with an even bigger potential. A good age for a young centre-back that played quite a significant amount of games in the Championship and in the Bundesliga. I heard the rumours about Levekusen, if that is true, then I think it is a statement that players want to come to us over other top clubs and we know that we are interesting because we have a fantastic environment, we have a good team, good club and we are growing.

"Very happy that he wants to join the ride and the journey and I'm looking forward to having him in the squad."

Brentford boss Thomas Frank on whether Ivan Toney will be available for Sunday's match: "Who knows? Let's see on Sunday what will happen. Ivan trained the whole week, he trained with a good attitude in every aspect so he could be involved, he could not. He could be here after the 30th, he could not be here. Everything is up in the air. I said the whole time, if he's here, I'm very happy. If he's not here I am happy on his behalf."

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou on transfer business: "A couple more [players] will go out, but we've done a fair bit of work over the last 12 months in terms of the squad.

"As much as the focus has been on getting guys in, we've changed the squad a fair bit, brought down the demographic a fair way.

"We've brought in footballers who are more better suited to play the football we want to play moving forwards. So, there has been a lot of work done in that area from our perspective, but with a week to go there is still a little bit to do."

On Dominic Solanke: "Dominic picked up a knock in the last game, he got through the game, but he flared up the day after and he’ll miss tomorrow."

On Rodrigo Bentancur: "Irrespective of concussion protocols, any head injury we’ve always got to be more conservative from my perspective. He’s bounced back really well, he’s done all the tests and feels good but we’ll take our time with Rodrigo to make sure he’s absolutely 100 per cent before we put him out there again. It’s unfortunate for Rodrigo as he had a good game on Monday night."

On Yves Bissouma returning to the squad: "Biss is available but we’ve got other options there and the bridge building continues."

"Pedro [Porro] is fine, he trained this week and we have no other concerns."

Thomas Frank says Ivan Toney could play at Liverpool on Sunday and "everything is up in the air" regarding the England's striker's future.

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou spoke in his press conference about the signing of Wilson Odobert from Burnley: "It's no secret we were looking for a wide player and Wilson was one of the ones we highlighted. We had to go through certain steps to get these things done. Once Dom [Solanke] was done there was one target and that was Wilson and that happened really quickly.

"I really like the way he plays in the wide areas. He's different to our other wingers. He's a dribbler, he likes to get into the front third. He can play either side, he can play central.

"He's had a really good development if you look at his trajectory from PSG as a youngster to Troyes, playing in Ligue 1, and France and Premier League football before the age of 19. I think he ticked all the boxes for us and he's a fantastic young bloke as well, so really happy to get him in.

"I won’t bring players here who I don’t think can meaningfully contribute to us in the short-term and Wilson definitely will."

"I wish him all the best. Obviously I don't want him to play well on Sunday but he is a very good defender and it will be tough for whoever he has in front of him for sure."

Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola on opponents Newcastle and their opening day win over Southampton: "It's not a lot of help for us the first game they played because Southampton played with a different system, different style and the game was very conditioned by the red card.

"It's very good from their side that they win a game where they play with ten men from the first half.

"They are very good and experienced players. When you see Bruno (Guimaraes), Joelinton, (Alexander) Isak, (Anthony) Gordon - even if they are playing with one les they will always be a threat. I do not expect them to get a red card so it will be much more difficult for us."

Ange Postecoglou says Yves Bissouma is available for the Everton game but "the bridge building continues" following his suspension. The midfielder missed Monday's trip to Leicester after footage emerged appearing to show him inhaling laughing gas.

Midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur suffered a head injury against the Foxes so will miss Saturday's game because of concussion protocols.
